This anime is a hidden gem! When you're looking for a shoujo-comedy with very light, not annoying romance ( I warn you, very very light romance. Don't see this with loads of romance expectations, you'll be disappointed). Good to see when you're running out of anime to watch. I recommend this. A must watch for comedy lovers. The op is a plus

The manga makes it 100% clear that that's true. In the manga, she wore two white ribbons on the first day of school (the way she normally wears her polka dot ones.) Then after Nozaki carried her over the fence, he told her the only reason he came to school that day was for the flower. Sakura realized that the school didn't give away flowers anymore, so she handed her one of her ribbons instead. Since Nozaki was so tired and out of it, he forgot all about the encounter. Then, when he was trying to think of a design for his new female protagonist in his manga, he found the ribbon Sakura gave him... and incorporated it into Mamiko's design. It makes me kind of disappointed that in the anime they rushed through that scene and just made Sakura wear one ribbon from the beginning.

I rewatched the anime recently since it came out on Netflix in my country. It’s such a fun and enjoyable anime with a colourful cast and clever dynamics! I was surprised that the animation was actually not bad either. It’s clearly still budgeted but there are parts where the animation caught me off guard (not that it was spectacularly animated but I guess I’m used to really low budget anime when they have this kind of art style...)
