Cannot tell you how timely this video is! Breaking the job up for starters, and then the usefulness of a smaller roller. I have just doubled up my 8x10 and plan to go to A2 as soon as I have got the hang of A3, and where to put everything when working big! I had been balking at the idea of trying to work with several larger bits of paper all at the same time, and so this video was like a gift! I will never own one of those huge plates but I think I can get ingenious given time… Love your subject matter and the simplicity with which you approached it, and that reminded me, I must try to grow some, I love it, and I must give the oil pastel resist another try. Your prints look great, the larger one especially, I hope you will be posting more… Thanks.

This is so good! Thanks for continuing to share your experiments with us here. Maybe try Golden Open acrylics so you don’t have to rush the roll on of color? Or mixing in some slow drying medium? I use water mixable oil paints on my large plate. I’m guessing the oil pastel wouldn’t work as a resist then, though. I will have to try it.

Something I've found doing similar types of transfer is that using a coloured oil pastel or pen or chalk means your transfer sheet often comes out as interesting as the transfer. Red works brilliantly if you're using black ink, but other combinations work great too.

Great videos. Love sharing them with my Special Needs students as you are often dealing with experimentation and trying things out and seeing how things go (not being obsessed with perfection). I also love how you show that you store ideas to explore further at another time. As gel plates are so expensive and we have no budget, is there an alternative to a gel plate that we could use and make this accessible for lots of students to work on at the same time?

It is SO much fun and so inspiring to watch you work and listen to your commentary. And watch you find new things to do as you work. Question: Do you wash the acrylic paint off your rollers and your lino stamps before the paint dries? Not sure how one could fit that into the flow, but I'm curious if layers of dried acrylic paint on top of a lino stamp make it pretty much useless after a while.
