Gel Printing, lots of layers with Art Foamies

Back again with another tutorial for Art Foamies. Today its fun with the gel plate!
Just a note*
MAKE SURE TO LET THE PAINT DRY IN BETWEEN THE LAYERS OF STAMPING.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Products Used:
1 sheet of white cardstock, 8 1/2 X 11 inches
Paint colors of your choice, I used 5 different colors
Gel Plate
Brayer
Palette Paper or some surface for paint, flat so you can brayer the paint
1 stencil, preferably a good size of negative space (ex 1 big heart)

Me too! You can't get that effect with a brush, which is why I never clean my plates. I love the serendipity.

Fun fun fun! Turned out great. I can never ever get that last final print. Maybe i dont wait long enough for everything to dry? Probably.

Are you using too much paint? You have to make sure all the layers are dry. Then when you apply your final layer of paint, you should be able to see all the other layers underneath. And pull the print right away. Try that and let me know if it worked!

sure. I just use Recollections Cardstock from Michael's craft store. It's 65lb cardstock. Nothing fancy. That help?

I love the colours together but why did they make the stamp with the letters the wrong way round?

Thank you. It's a stamp, it's not the wrong way when you use it as a stamp. But where I stamped it onto the gel plate, then pull a print, the print shows it in reverse. If I just simply stamped it on a piece of paper, it would be the right way.

What do you do with all these prints? Is it possible to print directly into a canvas? Ty

sometimes I make them into albums. Sometimes they're just prints that I keep and look at sometimes. It is possible to print directly on canvas but its not going to look the same as on paper because of the texture.
