You should do a velocity test for the xf223sp
@SGAmmo_LLC8 ай бұрын
We are having our range rebuilt the last 2 weeks, with side berms, new backstop and a full 100 yards of range, its going to be so much better and a little bit more neighborly to the people ling near SGAmmo with some noise control from the side berms. Once the bulldozer guys are done and out we will do a velocity test on all 3 of these in a different video
@CheeseBurgerXJ8 ай бұрын
@@SGAmmo_LLC awesome that’s great to hear, I’ll be looking forward to seeing the new range setup. When do you think the price increase will happen for what you already have in stock?
@SGAmmo_LLC8 ай бұрын
@@CheeseBurgerXJThat depends on what the factories do on pricing, I am seeing a letter from Federal/CCI/Speer/Remington that there will be a May1st price increase on handgun ammo, but it does not give specifics. Ultimately I have to pass on increases, but things like this do not operate like clockwork, sometimes my changes happen early, sometimes they happen late, sometimes the factories bluff on an increase to drive sales, other times they do what they say they will do. I know the gunpowder shortage thing is real, too many different sources confirm this, so the factories will probably go up to offset higher powder costs and less production capacity
@CheeseBurgerXJ8 ай бұрын
@@SGAmmo_LLC yeah i was seeing what China was saying about selling their gunpowder and I figured the prices would be going up soon. I have a 12.5” barrel so I was wondering if the velocity test would be out before the price increase if it’s even possible to know what will happen between now and then
@SGAmmo_LLC8 ай бұрын
@@CheeseBurgerXJwe just did velocity test on this this morning. At 50 degrees, and 25' from muzzle to crono, in my 10.25" suppressed M16, xf223sp got 5 rounds at these velocities, 2487, 2459, 2478, 2516, 2510. Ammo inc got 2415, 2383, 2379, 2282, 2464. Winchester RA556B we had a chrono problem, and ended up with 3 readings, my son deleted 1 because he thought I had more ammo to test but I only had 2 spare rounds left and they got 2598 and 2571. So RA556B is faster, but that should be expected because it is 5.56 pressure level. Again this is in a 10.25" short barrel with suppressor, so these 'slow' numbers should be expected, numbers from 16" and 20" are faster and will be posted in the video

Why didn't you include the norma mle in this? I would have liked to seen its performance compared to these. Thanks for what you do!
@SGAmmo_LLC8 ай бұрын
Its almost gone so sort of pointless to test and it means breaking up a full can at this point which makes a lot more lost cost of product than a single box

Them guys can keep the 68-77 OTM ill take a 62/64gr bonded sp for a do all load
@SGAmmo_LLC8 ай бұрын
the 64/62 bonded is probably way better for up close self protection or close range hunting, but at 100 yards you are typically looking at a 4" to 6" group with a projectile like this. Outside 100 yards or less, that is where the OTM match bullets become the way to go because it is reasonable to expect much better accuracy. Probably good to have some of both

Great test guys, i just found your channel a couple wks ago and love it. Have been browsing your website and i saw that federal load so im glad to see you test it. I was wondering how it would compare to the fusion loading other than being a lil cheaper! Looks go to go for me seems like the same performance from what i saw. Thanks again and looking forward to getting some of these.

I doubt we test Fusion, the gel blocks are so expensive we want to focuc on products that have the potential of selling in good volume

I'm not sure if I can hit a gel block at 100 yards ;), maybe after some fine tuning, 15 feet is more in my range, but we will give it a try some time
@freneticfanatic7 ай бұрын
This can easily be simulated by using a shorter barrel at 15 yards. The velocity decrease to a 12.5 or 13.7in barrel should suffice for the 100 yard velocity shot.

It is an expensive product for sure. Your department might be able to order it from Winchester FET-out (no 11% excise tax and no sales tax), but it probably will still cost about the same as what I sell it for as this lot was discounted by the factory due to the primer sealant issues, normally it is about $30 a box
