Grindelwald knew love. He could wield it. He got one of the most important people in this series and most powerful to join him by L O V E. He drove a ligilimese almost crazy. In retrospect it might not make sense why Queenie left Jacob to join Grindelwald if all she wanted was Jacob, but that’s the brilliant part. He was able to manipulate someone who could read minds into joining him. Voldemort could never do that. He would dismiss it out of hand. That was his mistake with snape. Had Grindelwald been in snape’s timeline he would be able to make Snape ultimately his to control without it even seeming like it. Grindelwald was fearless. Voldemort was a cowered. Grindelwald literally posted his meeting add all over Paris. Voldemort literally hid at malfoy manor. He didn’t even stay at the ministry once it was his. When the aururs showed up at grindelwald’s meeting he told his followers to leave but he stayed and showed off some badass magic, he killed leta Lestrange and other aururs. Not Voldemort. Sure he fought Dumbledore, but the second the ministry showed up he fled. Only taking one of his followers with him. And I refuse to believe grindelwald couldn’t escape from nurmangaurd. He build that place. He had to have some sort of contingency plan. He escaped from Macusa prison, and he had probably never been there before.

Grindelwald didn't even have to manipulate people cuz they were already thinking and feeling deeply about these things already for a long time, he was the only one bold enough to speak out about it, if not him then someone else will, they just want to live freely and being oppressed and suffocating to death is no life at all, with his legendary skills, elder wand and devoted followers the dream can become a reality and the impossible can be accomplished , they just want to live the life they crave and desire deeply in their own hearts and minds , it's awe inspiring and empowering to see someone of your own race leading the world being able to help achieve the dream

Actually he doesnt want equality. He wants the wizards to rule over the muggles. He said himself he doesnt want to kill all muggles, because they can make use of them. And i think Dumbledoore also realized that, when he wasnt blinded by love anymore. But Grindelwald is a great character and Johnny Depp is just pure perfect on this role.

@@aMarita79 yes exactly and one of the things that was making him far more dangerous than voldi is the fact that his followers follow him out of the believe that he does the right thing there were loyal because they wanted to most of voldis followers were loyal for him out of fear that he will kill them if they not ( and truth to be told he whould kill them without a second trought) grindelwalds followers whould die for him out of believe they do the right choice they didn't need to think twice about that and to let the people think that they do the right thing for them and the people they love ( and I'm sure that grindelwald was thinking that they do the right thing too but was using that to control them too.) is a much more effective way to control them then fear they were thinking that they are equal to grindelwald but that wasn't the case grindelwald was given them the felling they are that why they were so easily to manipulate voldi was using fear to control them he was showing them that he was above them all they weren't about to die for him not that easily in that case like we see with grindelwald voldis followers know to some point that waht they do is wrong (they are people who were blinded loyal to voldi like bellatrix but they were not as many as with grindelwald) in the face of massive danger I think most of them flew ( exception to that is if they know that's voldi is gonna know that they flew I think in that case they not that stupid) that's why I think that grindelwald was a way more dangerous threat than voldi ( but voldi was a way more powerful wizard) anyways thanks for reading that and sorry for my bad englisch it isn't my first language

And now tell me how could be FB franchise this good again when this man dissapears? And I don't mean that just Johnny Depp dissapears but Gellert Grindelwald will be gone with him. How could another actor play this? It's impossible to me. Johnny Depp is Grindelwald, it's his job that this character works, that speech, those looks, idea with different-colored eyes, his voice, everything. Someone else clearly couldn't replace him, not in the same role. I simply can not take this filthy act from WB, so I guess I'm not going to see FB 3. Men can be victims, not just women, it's not some kind of privilege.
