Very skilled gem cutter. It is fascinating to watch you cut a stone. I am a gem cutter my self, I cut on an American made precision faceting machine… cutting by eye would be a real challenge for me. Bravo, you have all my admiration!

Oh wow, I always assumed faceting was done by machine. Can't believe that was all done by eye, amazing skills!! ... and less than an hour, incredible!! 😍

Incredible!! This is a lost art where I live. It’s all done with fancy machines now. This was done entirely by hand using DIY equipment. And the cut was absolutely perfect in under an hour…..Just wow. 🤩 I would love to own an emerald or something from this cutter.

Can you explain your dopping technique? Looks like you have a blob of dopping wax on the tip of the stick. Then you apply the stick to a drop of Crazy Glue you put on the stone. Then to remove the stone, you heated it over a spirit lamp and then soaked the stone in denatured alcohol to remove the Crazy Glue. Correct?

Главное - не покупать у них гранёные камни! Кривая органка ведёт к потере веса при переогранке и камень сильно теряет в цене.

The hard way to do it. I admire your skills but a modern gem faceting machine will make your life much easy.👏👏
@CapricornGems2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your comments about this.... However newer so called modern faceting machines are slower than freehand cutting and polishing. The lap has a cutting and polishing sector which means on final cut and polish no lap changes are required. Moreover no need for changing angles or indexes... And our quality can match any machine cut gem....
@V27RV2 жыл бұрын
In some ways u correct,but then again..to see how they use what they got and conjure out these amazing pieces with the tools on hand is simply amazing and deserves way more credibility to their art of cutting and polishing

@@CapricornGems That is not true - especially if you want precision point meets and facet sizes. There are laps available with both pre-polish cutting and polishing on the same lap. That machine is certainly a step up from a jamb peg set-up, but that is all.

@XVRickXV Жыл бұрын
You could only determine that by examining the stone in your hands. Either way, you miss the point. This is a demostration of pure skill which you clearly don't have. Because you have no true skill, you have no choice but to use a machine that measures the angles for you which is something that anyone can do. Just because you bought cheap crooked stones from somewhere and became disappointed, is no reason to be disrespectful to everyone that cuts by hand. ti metti in imbarazzo. 🤣
@canadiangemstones76362 ай бұрын
