Nice meeting you at the USFG meetup on Friday. You checked out my aquamarine I won for a door prize. Funny how your next video was on aquamarine. Anyway I was going to try using my Creamway lap for polish, which you didn't mention. The Creamway lap, I believe has a large content of zirconium oxide. Anyway if that doesn't do it I'll try one of your options. Enjoy your videos, so please keep making them. A video on what you purchased in the way of facet rough, at the Tucson show would be of interest to me.

Yes, you picked up 3 beautifully colored pieces of Aqua rough...nice door prize!!! They gave away a lot of prizes at the symposium...and I also enjoyed the lunch break where anyone could bring in rough to buy or trade/swap...I got some nice rough there at the best prices in Tucson...I was surprised. Yes, a creamway should work on beryl, no problem...I don't know if you will want to just use a water drip or supercharge your creamway with an oxide. Let me know how it turns out. Best of luck!!!

Very nice work. The aquamarine I found is like a baby blue color. Haven’t tried to facet them yet. Maybe one day. 😊

Color, Size, Clarity and Cost all matter. Hope the ones you find are also big and eye clean.

Love the color range on those stones! You said in the video that you lowered the angles to improve performance, on your cut sheet it also said the angles adjust to fit settings. If you used the original angles would the pavilion have been too deep to fit a standard premade setting??

Thanks. Yes, I am saying that in a lot of cases the angle of the 'width' of many designs cause problems with standard premade settings. In many cases the jeweler who sets a stone has to make adjustments to the setting to get the stone to fit, just because the angle on the 'width' sides of the pavilion of the gemstone are too steep. But...I have met other cutters who disagree and claim that they are able to fit the gemstone into the mounting....go figure. 🙂

There are many cuts which will make Beryl sparkle. I would recommend you take your favorite designs into GCS and see how they perform with beryl, and see if you can tweek them to improve performance.
