Gem Micromatic Clog Pruf Shave

Hi, my shave today was with the gem micromatic clog pruf with new Williams mug soap, gem super stainless blade, vdh boar brush, Dickinson's witch hazel, and Aqua Velva classic ice blue. I'd also like to make correction the gem micromatic clog pruf peerless has more teeth (17) not less. Thanks for watching and happy shaves see you on the next shave

Nice shave! The whole Micromatic line is just awesome! When you get your Sedef, watch a video or two on loading it. It’s kind of tricky.

It's nice to see that you can still get a vintage for a decent price. Vintage razors used to mostly be affordable, unless they were in perfect condition. It seems like now there are a few people who buy everything up and then resell it for a premium. I used a Peerless a few days ago and got a good shave with it. The only blade that seems to work well for me are PTFE stainless. Thanks for the video and I hope you have a nice day.

I just had a shave with my Clog Pruf. It was great! I just picked up at an antique store a VB1 Auto Strop razor with the strop that had the label still on it and the box for only $12!! This model was property of the US army!! Glad to see you repaired your brush. Nice shave today!

Nice razors...people are beginning to see the value in vintage razors. The Gem Juniors, the 1920s Tuck Away and other s are becoming difficult to find. I have all my vintages and they're great..I'm subbing. Question. What other soaps do you use besides the Williams. Williams is old school and pales in comparison to soaps like Taylor of old Bond Street or Barrister and Man or even Wet Shaving Products..I used Williams for so long then realized I had greater options.

I hear on increasing scarcity of vintage razors.For soaps I have VDH deluxe, VDH unscented, Proraso Red, V&E Barbershop, Arko, B pure (dt) ,cremo mint,cremo original, the 2 bolero shave creams from dt. I have been looking at local and Regional soap makers. I will take a look at those three soap makers. Thank you and take care.

I never felt a lot of difference between the original Micromatic and the Micromatic Clog Pruf. They are really identical except for the open comb vs. the closed comb guard. I know some people will swear up and down that the open comb is an aggressive beast but I never got that and I own multiple copies of each model. Maybe it's just technique? I will say though that the Micromatic Flying Wing is a milder shaving razor compared to those earlier models. ASR stressed the fact in their instructions that you should shave with the cap of the Micromatic flat against your face. They would even have a tag on a string wrapped around a new razor stating that. Later versions of the Flying Wing have a round dimple on the center of the cap, which they called the "Guiding Eye" which was supposed to remind the user to shave with the razor cap against their face. An Interesting gimmick.

Yeah this is mikey from Mikey shaves CD just make sure when you get the shavette keep it very shallow in other words keep that spine close to your face if that helps and use another razor to do the clean up and have a really wet lather
