Great one, I think you should do a "training wheels for ai coding" video or series that covers the tools, apps, extensions, etc. that everyone should use & your recs to monitor & "undo" situations where the ai goes rogue on your codebase, hallucinates, decides to delete half the files, starts injecting // ...rest of your code goes here as it deletes 1,000 lines of your code during an edit or update to something, etc. Also, since you're into Aider, you should absolutely do one to show how to use Aider's Orchestration / Architect mode to have Aider guide and keep Cline in check, on a checklist, point out potential issues and errors that a human may not catch along the way and some of the ways to recover from the frequent disasters that can happen while using the most popular ai coding assistants.

I have been playing with gemini 2 and I got to say I am impressed with its coding capabilities. Ignoring the frustration about poor indentation and missing closing brackets, it was able to write a full prioritized replay buffer for a rather complex AI project. Integrating it into existing code. That is not at all a straightforward task. A bit like having a sports car with a missing door and a broken windshield but it's a sports car nonetheless.

Very nice. Windsurf seems to now only give free users "Casade Base"(which is basically Llama 3.1 70b according to their docs) model, and this Gemini 2.0 is so much better than that. Just as we needed an alternate to windsurf, you give us this amazing new setup. Thank you. And yes we would love to see the full stack app.

Yeah it's so sad, I wish we got to use sonnet 3.5 longer. I'm looking for alternatives now, Cascade just isn't cutting it. Also windsurf was a ram hog, unlike the other ide's I tried. I liked the way windsurf did the assistant though, letting you easily revert - tried Aide and it was buggy (but fast and not a mem hog) and the way they have the assistant set up didn't really work out well for me. Guess I might have to give this one a go.
