MCM I feel have always been really level headed with their builds and wants. Its always honestly nicer to watch, as they said sure you can chuck more boost and ethonol in and make 300KW but the car starts becoming undrivable in that state, it isnt worth it for anything other than bragging rights or clout really.

I wish, this is still a build we in my country can't run every day, due to our annoying laws and procedures, unless you're a millionaire 😅 still very nice to see though, not everything has to be 1000hp this 1000hp that.

MCM have nothing to prove. I 100% believe they could build some crazy 1400hp monster with the team and friends they have, but I would prefer to watch them create something with 120hp that has meaning and purpose and put the unspent money to better use. Big power comes from big budgets, but passion comes with a story.

Marty, Many moons ago I had a stock 1963 Cortina (1987). Stock 1500. Boring. But as it was my daily I converted it from the old Lucas generator to a Bosch alternator off a Falcon (wow - a whole 35A!). That was great as I could now see at night. Then it became un-boring. Lotus casting, +0.080", big Cosworth cam, 1600 rods, forged pistons balanced etc. and a pair of 42DCOE's. Sweet spot was 7500rpm. So what? It used to destroy the alternators with RPM. The windings on the rotor just used to pull themselves out. The answer was to put a bigger pulley on it and slow it down. Suggest you look inside the old alternator before you replace it (and potentially do it all again), particularly where the windings are connected to the slip-rings. Love the Gemini build and the channel. And cammy nasty engines make great daily drivers 🤣 Cheers.

MARTY!!! I've paused immediately at 7:42 to urgently tell you... please don't close your bonnet like that on a Gemini. You will dent it!! Hold it about 5-6 inches up, then drop it. That's the best way for Gemini's. If you've fitted after market bonnet struts, you might need to find a slightly different method again... but don't push on it. They are also double skinned on that part of the bonnet so you can't push the dent out from inside, once you dent it, game over you need a PDR dude... ok, roll the tape...

This has been my favourite build so far, not just because i like old school cars and geminis, but also because this is a complete nostalgia trip for Marty having owned a gemini in his younger days and now hes re living those times but better..... i can totally relate to this as being a datsun guy i am in the process of doing the same thing with my stanza, i owned a stock one in the 90s and loved it. That has stayed with me i now own a nissan swapped one currently getting a turbo upgrade....... i love this build so much for those reasons and to me the nostalgia thing is what its all about, remembering something you loved and building one in current times only better. Good shit guys, this is epic, love the car, love the meaning and passion behind it.

They actually won't, the Kadett C uses the Opel CIH engine, this is an Isuzu engine with an Isuzu bellhousing pattern, also the Kadett C floorpan is different and the gearbox crossmember is likely in a different spot. Bolt on choices for this engine are Isuzu MSG (which is the stock one he has now), Isuzu MUA from Japanese/Australian Isuzu TF Rodeo, and there's a really rare T5 bellhousing from the USA that came on base model 2.6 rwd Isuzu Amigo and Honda Passport (badge engineered car) made in the USA that had an Isuzu engine and Ford style T5 box.

Might consider a longer final gear with a limited slip when you beef up that rearend? 3k on the slower highway cruise will be a tad harsh and bad for fuel economy but maybe slightly better for the track, who knows. The series within a series within another series. Marty is the real car guy, and Moog's mind always seems to be somewhere else. Creative content and music isn't what got me watching this channel, though it is a contributing factor to why i look for something else to watch.

Beautiful build 😍 love KZbinrs not building something with big power for a click bait title. Testament to you and your car friends 👌🏻

In the early 80s in Darwin, i had a Gemini with a mildly worked 1700cc odd original block motor, running twin IDA Webbers. Used to race it down at the 17mile airstrip, and for the time it was pretty quick. There might even be viewers of my vintage who remember that thing. Today I have a Stinger GT and the MCM Gemini would embarrass it! The technology and skills available today are amazing.

This is for Scott. I’m just going to say you seem to be in a very happy space at the moment mate. If things aren’t that way, then drop me a line.

Just got around to watching guys, good ep. I remember using a nissan n13 alternator on my gem, just had to swap pulleys over and it fitted straight on 👍

This car was my rival when I had my GB 1973 Galant. Awesome work guys, the power output is so much better than I was expecting!

It's using a couple of my stolen aero based designs, made by/linked to an international theft ring, like most performance cars have been the past 2 decades.

I usually hate on mcm for their recent new style and approach, but this was a good episode, I enjoyed it. Glad there was no big fake or real drama (alternator no worky is nothing in my book).

Now a Astra nine limo diff centre kit, with 28 spline axles would be a good edition. A strengthened torque tube, with solid rubber mounts, will hold good HP. VS rear disk brakes. Vt front brake conversion. VT Master cylinder on a 16mm thick spacer, with a longer plunger machined. And you are set for stopping. Gemini brakes are not great. Love the car. Great power. Well done all. :)
