MCM I feel have always been really level headed with their builds and wants. Its always honestly nicer to watch, as they said sure you can chuck more boost and ethonol in and make 300KW but the car starts becoming undrivable in that state, it isnt worth it for anything other than bragging rights or clout really.

Marty, Many moons ago I had a stock 1963 Cortina (1987). Stock 1500. Boring. But as it was my daily I converted it from the old Lucas generator to a Bosch alternator off a Falcon (wow - a whole 35A!). That was great as I could now see at night. Then it became un-boring. Lotus casting, +0.080", big Cosworth cam, 1600 rods, forged pistons balanced etc. and a pair of 42DCOE's. Sweet spot was 7500rpm. So what? It used to destroy the alternators with RPM. The windings on the rotor just used to pull themselves out. The answer was to put a bigger pulley on it and slow it down. Suggest you look inside the old alternator before you replace it (and potentially do it all again), particularly where the windings are connected to the slip-rings. Love the Gemini build and the channel. And cammy nasty engines make great daily drivers 🤣 Cheers.

MARTY!!! I've paused immediately at 7:42 to urgently tell you... please don't close your bonnet like that on a Gemini. You will dent it!! Hold it about 5-6 inches up, then drop it. That's the best way for Gemini's. If you've fitted after market bonnet struts, you might need to find a slightly different method again... but don't push on it. They are also double skinned on that part of the bonnet so you can't push the dent out from inside, once you dent it, game over you need a PDR dude... ok, roll the tape...

They actually won't, the Kadett C uses the Opel CIH engine, this is an Isuzu engine with an Isuzu bellhousing pattern, also the Kadett C floorpan is different and the gearbox crossmember is likely in a different spot. Bolt on choices for this engine are Isuzu MSG (which is the stock one he has now), Isuzu MUA from Japanese/Australian Isuzu TF Rodeo, and there's a really rare T5 bellhousing from the USA that came on base model 2.6 rwd Isuzu Amigo and Honda Passport (badge engineered car) made in the USA that had an Isuzu engine and Ford style T5 box.
