Great program ! My wife and I went plant based , no oils, over night, and it was so easy. In six months I've dropped 46 lbs and she has lost 49 lbs. In only 30 days my cholesterol dropped from 255 down to 155 and LDL from 158 to 78. I had ED and got short of breath any time I did anything. After three months, I can exercise all I want and not even need to breath through my mouth. I'm 64 and ED is no longer a problem. After fighting stage four pancreatic cancer for six years ,this is the first time no new tumors were found on the scan and the tumors present showed only 1 mm of growth. In the past, tumors would double in size every six months. My oncologist, who has high bp and cholesterol, was so impressed he is going to go plant based as well. And guess what his first question ? Yea, it was "what am I doing for protein?" Plant based for life ! And a lot longer one for sure, now that I eat only plants.... Keep up the great work, Rich. This is a much better path in life than doing law.

@@waynebusse6376 Good for you - that is awesome. Chipotle has a beans & rice bowl for $2.10 with a side of salsa. I get that to go then make burritos at home. Soup Plantation has like 8+ soups and chilis; however, in August I cud only eat the vegetarian black bean chili, which is really dumb. They should have 2-3 soup/chili choices all the time that are non-dairy, non-oil, etc. . Soup Plantation & Panera in particular are really missing the boat with limited choices for strict dieters. They already have the basics! As a senior, Soup Plantation would be a decent choice at $8.49, but not if there is nothing but limited choices of salad and a baked potato. They have a blueberry muffin that didnt indicate it had butter or oil in the ingredients, but I but it on a napkin and it leeched out some moisture that might have been some sort of oil. It would be nice if they had a whole wheat or bran muffin that had no egg, butter or oil.

The weight loss was likely due to discontinuing refined sugars, refined oils and processed foods. Not the fact that you are eating plants. Recently I was told by my doctor that I needed to go on medication for my type 2 diabetes and high cholesterol. Both were very bad, so I decided to change my diet and lifestyle. I do not like taking pills, so I told her I would try and control them by dieting and exercising. I told her to give me one month, and if it hadn't worked I would go on the pills. Three weeks later, I went back to see her; she took my blood and cholesterol test and told me to come back in one week. When I went back for the results, I was shocked - the doctor looked at me and said, "Mr King, I don’t know what you are doing, but whatever it is, continue to do it - we can't see any signs that you’re diabetic and your cholesterol is normal! We don’t need to put you on any medication." To my surprise, she didn’t even ask me what I was doing - but you can! I’m not a vegetarian, but my diet is 99% vegetables and I do fasting regularly!!

Most doctors here would poo hoo diet changes as a way to regain health, it s so, so sad. Great discussion and insight. I’m curious how this discussion continues as women move into their menopausal years. Lower estrogen, progesterone and testosterone levels are a big part of why women develop high cholesterol, osteoporosis and Alzheimer’s after age 50. For men their andropause happens around age 70 and that’s when we see their metabolic profiles increase in this direction as well.

I'm not a doctor but as I'm working with hormones too this info might be useful - eat plant based whole foods that are not processed, no gluten, no flour, no sugar, no soya, no caffeine and no alcohol. Make sure tk eat 3 regular full meals - preferably at set times with a leeway of an hour. Also, get enough sleep (7-8hrs) at regular times - wake up and go to sleep around the same time everyday. And then anything else that will reduce stress e.g. getting off your phone before bed, meditation. Exercise/move your body daily - but no more than an hour (don't over exercise) Also drinking dandilion tea 2-3x a day. Maca powder is great Cbd oil daily Using products that are natural - remember that your skin is your largest organ and will take in any toxins in your skin care/make up etc. Which will all in turn effect your hormones. Hope these help xx

My vitamin D results showed I was very seriously deficient at 6ng, I skipped the meds and got my Vitamin D level to 80 and all my issues reversed. I also focused on getting my gut microbiome healthy. You might check to see if you have leaky gut issues which can trigger auto immune problems. You are too young in my opinion to be having hot flashes.
