Really nicely done video. I love how festive your house is looking and the Gemmy Santa prop is brilliant.🎅🏻

My great-grandfather had one of these at his house and it terrfied me as a kid. But now that I'm older, it's cool to see a video of one that's well preserved! (Maybe my fear gave me an interest in animatronics... who knows.)

The original Santa’s from Gemmy are built so well and really are the inspiration behind some of the life sizes made today. I think this version is in a lot of our memories growing up!

A classic Gemmy lifesize! I like the fact that the life size Santa's we see today every year at The Range use the same exact audio as these and as you say the bases on them are based on the Gemmy's version. The thing that questions me is how an earth did they get the audio as it sounds so clear and in good quality except on Jingle Bells?

@@HarryYT22 He is definitely the most well known Christmas life size! They use quite a lot of things replicated from Gemmy on this such as the head turn motion (same mech as the grinch’s), base and audio, I love how much bass there is on The Range’s versions however the older ones from 2015 to 2020 are far superior to the ones sold today, the quality has gone quite downhill sadly in terms of sound quality and motor lifespan. Thanks for watching mate!

Can you advise how to fix ours? Got him Christmas 2003/jan 04 in the sale for £49 st B&Q and hes been beloved by us ever since ( big gemmy fans) but no longer dances or his head/lips move. We have tried a new band ( dont know if its the right size) on his chest motor which is whirling but still no luck, Id love to get his mouth and head moving again as the best times we had were him singing along to us and other music we connected him to. Any advice much appreciated.

It was so amazing how these were sold practically everywhere back then, he’s the best quality Santa out there. In terms of his repairs, for the dancing mechanism, is the big pulley moving with the new belt in place? If not it might need a tighter rubber band, otherwise it might be gear related. For the head turn, same principle - this one runs off a rubber band as well, usually disk drive ones work well with these, if the gear is split however, one of these will do the trick www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254932365763?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=CK4-D1xORZm&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=ky8g9ohmry2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

They’re available on eBay and Amazon for around £13 you need to make sure it’s a 9V 1.5 amp (1500mA), any higher could cause harm to the circuit board
