If your comfortable replacing your own shocks, you have the talent to rebuild them as well. Great videos here on you tube to walk you through it. All the special tools you need including a nitrogen tank is still cheaper than paying someone to rebuild them. I did the same thing, bought a used set, rebuilt them, then replaced the original. Now I have a set to rotate through as needed.

I used texas shock works! They send rebuilt shocks to me, springs included, for extra, "none of my local mechanics wanted to beal with those springs!" They arrived, my local mechanic put them on, and I sent the old ones back Fed-ex with a prepaid shipping sticker. What a night and day differance!!!!!!! Got $400 back off price of rebuilt shocks,core.... Check them out! SK

Have you run into this??? I have a 2012 F150 Harley edition. We tow it and last time we towed it the computer said it was in tow mode and to leave it in N. Well we got back to the house and i smelled trans fluid. The computer didn’t have the transfer case disengage the trans so the trans just spun in N for 640 miles. That cost me a new trans. Trans and instal was 10.5K. It would be nice to be able to confirm that the trans is disengaged.

Shocks are needing rebuild at 50,000KMs with half off road and on road duty. Shock tear down and rebuild takes 5 hours to do all 4. Did the plugs on mine. Front lower wheel well plugs on both sides are a bitch. You need long extensions and wheel removed for better access for all the lower ones. Top are ok

I just bought a gen 1 raptor with a 6.2 V8 with 95 thousand miles. And I also bought the first gen 1 raptor brand new in 2010 with a 5.4 V8 both raptors bounced if I hit a bump while in a corner and they both felt out of control. I think the gen 1 shock's lack adequate rebound damping. So my question is, after they rebuilt your new shock's did that stop the out of control feel over bumps while driving in corners ? And did the rebuild shop use different viscosity shock oil or modify the new shock's? I'm addressing that same issue this weekend.

It’s basically just the seals fail / if you live in NY, & never hit any bumps, probably not a big issue..... but if you live in NY, why have a Raptor. Your just putting in new seals & returning shock to factory specs. That’s the best / Fox & Ford teamed up on this suspension. Rebuild, yes! Alter from factory specs, no
