Gen 6 Camaro ZL1 1/2 Mile Battle - 6 Speed Manual vs 10 Speed Auto

One of the duels of the day at the last Fast or Nothing 1/2 mile race involved this pair of Gen 6 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1's.The red one having the Neoh2ning Stage 1 put down 650 whp on the dyno and despite the fact that it has a traditional 6-speed manual gearbox, the stock 10-speed auto had a hard time keeping up with it.

I wanted to point that out, even if it is so obvious because, the green ZL1(auto) is undergoing some surgery including a Procharger kit among other bits.So it is very likely that a rematch will happen between this two cars, and the outcome will definitely be a different one.Thanks for watching!

On ideal conditions and same power the auto should be slightly faster.

on the track, the manual is faster at whatever track car and driver did the comparo. But i think the manual will always have higher trap speed, stock for stock.

I own a Hellcat Charger with a ZL1 due after the holidays. Your title suggests a matchup of TRANSMISSIONS, but the match is SILLY because of the mods. Otherwise the video is fine. I'm just giving you a hard time over the title! ;-)

The ZL1 grill is like that for a reason. Cooling. I am getting a ZL1 and can’t wait. I already ordered the roto-fab intake the 1LE tail light, and the side markers. I will be changing out the pulley too.

idgaf is auto is faster. My 5 speed CLS55 AMG will probably beat the auto zl1. I bought a 6 speed manual ZL1 because manual is the only way to truly enjoy. Plus the A10 Zl1 shifts faster just in straight auto mode than with paddles. imagine having no connection with a car.

SO STUPID. You're comparing a modified car making 100 rwhp more than stock vs stock auto. FACT = Auto is faster by a few tenths in the 1/4 mile (stock vs. stock). It's been proved over and over again. Nice try
