Pro tip from a LA Korean. You’re allowed to adjust the flame level. Unless it’s a full service kbbq like Baekjong you will always be better served turning it down.

Do they serve Ssamjang fermented bean paste with it or do you guys just not like that condiment? That's our favorite addition to the lettuce wrapped beef "sandwich." We like to grill some garlic with the beef too. Do they offer that option as well? We also enjoy wrapping the meat in Ssam-mu, a pickled radish paper. We'll be in Vegas next week and would love to go to Gen as long as they have our favorites. That beef belly looked fantastic, BTW. We're older and don't eat that much anymore, so hate to spend a fortune if we're only going to get maybe 4 meat courses. That $28.99 price point sounds great.

Good to see this place being reviewed. Been to this Gen many times and a few times a year would schedule a group luncheon or dinner with my friends and co-workers. There is actually a smaller Gen that is near this one too. The pineapple steak is always good and juicy. The chicken is good but takes longer to cook. Somehow I never tried the fried fish that you had but will try that next time.

My wife and I love Korean BBQ. But, maybe talk and grill at the same time. We love it when the grill gets char on it. It helps to get char on the meat. And sauce, where are the sauces?? Sauce the meat while it's cooking! (What a bummer the employee put dirty towels all over your food). I would think you would know how to do Korean BBQ. 😮 We went to this place on Saratoga Ave in San Jose CA it was terrible. It was the worst experience we've had at a Korean BBQ.

1) turn the heat down, you should not need grill changes so often. Your meat should not be burning (or catching fire lol) 2) put more meat on at once so it doesn’t burn. Your entire platter of raw meat should be placed on it!

We love going the GEN location in the OC. Its very tasty and it always seems very crowded. Definitely a great deal. My pro tip: Try and eat as much meat as you can vs all the carby foods. But sometimes you definitely gotta have your gohan 😁
