I'm gen Z and members of my generation are typically pretty self aware, and I see in them a pretty serious mistrust of any sort of social connection that occurs electronically. I think the reason that so many of us use social media and the rest is not because we like them (actually, everyone who's spoken frankly about it to me hates them), it's just because we were never taught anything else. It seems unlikely to me that there will be any serious movement in the direction of bot counseling beyond patient screening, when gen Z intuitively understands this is the source of their anxiety, and particularly because probably more than half of the gen Zers that are interested in bots make them for antagonistic purposes (usually just for fun). Gen Z are "digital natives" and I guess you could say that's by choice but that's like telling a man who's been drinking since he was 9 years old that he's "choosing" to be an alcoholic when the AA meeting is across town and the liquor store is across the street.

I am gen x and went to grad school for my MFT with gen z. It was ROUGH (very socially aggressive, immature, fixated on identity over character, and quick to accuse/cancel). I was hoping you would talk about them as counselors.

All the same criteria can applied to previous generations... Climate-change-hysteria started more than 50 years ago. There more wars/casualties of war in any of the previous generations. Housing never has shown decreasing prices. Ever. The only big difference is that many of the GenZ people were raised by a tablet/smartphone.

The housing collapse in the US has created a large shortage (developers went of business), which is increasing prices.
