Your reaction cheered me up after a very bad week. Thank you for that. Tom was a friend of my family and my uncle Reggie used to perform with Tom before Tom made it HUGE. He used to come to my Nan's house when I was a toddler and before I was born. When he was gigging in clubs in Wales, he used to come to visit my family. Then he became so big that I guess he was so busy that he could no longer visit. We don't blame him though. We're just happy that he got the career and life that he deserves. He is a great man in real life as well as on stage.

This and maybe unchained melody by Bobby Hatfield of the Rightious Brothers who sang it live on the Andy Williams show in 1965. If you ant to know why they called the Rightious Brothers blue eyed soul, check out Bobby singing summertime.

The problem with bringing this style of singing back is that there aren't that many who have the talent, skills and ability to sing and perform that well. Besides. the music industry is only interested in money, not real talent. So, they'll grab on to anything that can make them more money and force it on the music buying public. Another to listen to is Linda Ronstadt. What an amazing voice she had. Sadly, her voice was taken away with Parkinson's Disease.
@spencerantoniomarlen-starr3069Ай бұрын
There are multiple times the number of people on the planet now as there were in the 1960s. This implies that the issue is one of consumer demand for this type of music, not of the potential supply of talent.

He was killing it in that suit! And the way he snaps his fingers is even cool. This man is a living legend and still sounds and looks great in his 80s. My mom loved him back in the day - along with 300+ million other girls on the planet. So thanks Tom, for not taking my mom when I was little. She prob would've dropped us like a hot potato if he said to her, "let's go". He was a dangerous man. One look at him performing, Treat Her Right, on his tv show will show you that could ruin any family in the world he wanted to. Did he? IDK. But if I had a young wife back then, she would not be going to one of his shows - no way. To risky. Now-a-days? Go right ahead sweetheart. I'll buy you front row seats. 😂😂

My Dad asked my Mom one year what she wanted for Christmas. When she said a Tom Jones album he just shook his head. We wrapped an Album. And put it in a big box with stuff on top. She was happy for the other gifts but when she found the album at the bottom her face lit up. It was one of those memorable moments. ❤

First of all, your facial expressions showed that your emotions were all over the place. I truly loved your reaction because it was so genuine. I grew up listening to Tom. I was about ten the first time that I ever saw him on TV and later he got his own weekly show. I didn't start to appreciate his music until I was around thirteen, but I hadn't heard this song until I started listening to the reactions on KZbin. My mouth was hanging open and I was speechless, so I totally get it!

My Mom and I didn't miss a single episode of "The Tom Jones Show" Ran 65 episodes 1969-1971. It's awesome how much you loved it--this is way-back music. But Tom had a way of making people love him. Sir Tom‘s ability to hold a note for an extended time was one of the reasons he was asked to sing the title song for the James Bond movie „Thunderball“. He actually performed this song (Never Falling in Love Again)live on Britians got Talent with the son of the songs writer playing piano on his own audition. Tom said he remembered his father well. Check it out as it‘s also on utube. Cheers

That man was a huge sex symbol and a Playa😂. My mom was old enough to be my grandma, and when I was a little girl, I remember her watching his show. She had a mad crush on that Welsh crooner. He has an amazing voice with beautiful tone, dynamics, and vibrato. His loud high notes sound like he was operatically trained. You should see the duet he and Janis Joplin did. He was mesmerized by her because that woman's dirty blues rock voice blew his mind.

LOL. I get a kick seeing these younger people react to the music I listened to most of my life. I was born in 53 and was lucky to live in the era of the best music and talent there ever was. There was so much talent back then it's hard to pick a favorite. Today the so called music sucks. Rap isn't music. Rappers talk. That's not singing. No wonder these young people are shocked by the music of Tom Jones, Elvis and all the others. Those young people had no clue what really good music was.
