Bw Lee Njiru, you were our neighbor in Suguta Rd and as a kid, I greatly admired your travels. Today, however, am surprised you are putting down arts graduates, historians, yet you keep reminding us of the Kenyatta, Moi admin. Yes, we need the tech guys, but for any society to grow, I believe, we also need historians, literature experts, Geography, Musicians, Comedians...even the Bible, Koran, Torah is History and as a journalist, you need an all round knowledge to deliver to a wide range of people in a society. I was listening attentively until he started questioning the need for a Geographer, Zoologist, Historian. Clearly this guy and so many do not see how a Geographer has all answers to the recent floods which hit Nairobi and many parts in Kenya. The history is to enable us not repeat same mistakes made by our predecessors and learn from them what worked- referring to what Moi did is history so hes not clear what he dislikes and likes 😊😊 Am not shocked cause majority of Kenyans view of Environment issues is very limited yet we are headquarters of UNEP. Political knowledge is not the answer to every problem. Kenyan education is a book spanner with no practical skills, apprenticeship should be the way forward for Kenya. Uk gives students two options, straight university or a degree via apprenticeship. Any profession and government pays the apprentices a lower salary via the practical provider. Kenya is well situated to thrive through our land, send our kids to Israel to Learn farming of different crops ,?or hire Israeli teachers for the farmers and those agricultural officers.
