You make valid points but have ever asked yourself why so many people are risking their lives in crossing two sometimes three borders to get here. Our country has a longstanding history of melding and destabilizing other countries governments and their economies. We did to El Salvador Guatemala Honduras and many others the mass migrations are a direct result of that. As for drugs crossing borders it’s all about supply and demand, the US is the fiend Mexico is the dealer the same can be said of the US suppling weapons to cartels. Soft gun laws makes it easy for citizens to purchase cross the border and sell weapons directly to the criminals those are just facts.
@WyomingchiefАй бұрын
@@danielgomez7399and yet here you are trying to justify an excuse all the illegal immigrants. Sorry but the people in this country aren't going to put up with it for much longer. We are a sovereign country we must have borders and people have to do it the right way. I don't give a crap what has happened in other countries or in the past I care about what's happening in my country right now. I think that the Tahoe they were in had some degree of bullet resistance, when he rolls the window down, the glass is noticeably thick.
@bebop_557Ай бұрын
@@egalvf69 Firearms instructor here. It really depends on what the car is and the task it's being uparmored for. Typically these vehicles on the border are uparmored to deal with things like rocks being thrown at them or people trying to smash in the windows. If the cruiser was uparmored to protect against things like rifle rounds and heavier calibers, the giveaway for those is the suspension. When a soft skinned vehicle is uparmored to that degree, it becomes noticeably heavier. Which means the suspension has to beefed up, as well as the engine (to make sure the vehicle can still pursue at high speeds and to help ensure the engine doesn't overheat from the added weight it's moving). If you can't see the suspension, the way it drives is another telltale sign. It's basically like driving a humvee when it's uparmored to that degree. Look at that viral video of the South African CIT heist which Leo Prinsloo fought off. The vehicle was a regular Toyota truck that had been uparmored, as a result it wasn't very maneuverable. Hence him making wide turns and it being heavy enough to take being rammed by the other cars. As far as State Troopers go it depends on the state, the area the Trooper is patrolling, etc. For the state of Texas, a Trooper is required to hold their own for over an hour without any backup as part of their training. This is due to the wide areas they typically cover with Texas being so large. But being stationed on the border, that Trooper almost certainly has backup nearby in the form of BP, local PD, Texas Rangers, and other Troopers. I'm willing to bet the cruiser he was in had one way protective layering on the windows, which would allow him to shoot out but would offer resistance against bullets trying to come in. There are companies who uparmor pre-existing glass like that with protective coatings for things like cruisers and important buildings. (Not the same as doing construction to physically replace the glass.) As far as the doors go, larger departments typically stick rifle plates in the door panels to provide some degree of protection as it's usually going to be the cheapest and easiest to do that in large groups of cars. Typically the more specialized units get the serious armor, like MRAPs for SWAT etc. State Troopers especially mainly are around on highways, so the faster the cruiser is the better for their general work. Again, these are generalizations as things can vary so much. It's also entirely possible that Trooper was rolling lighter than normal because you're not going to knowingly drag a journalist into dangerous situations such as multiple rifle wielding threats. He probably was glad to do it because it meant he wouldn't be losing 30 pounds in sweat with his armor on all day lol Hope this answers your questions about uparmors.

So I am actually from Laredo. Born and raised. The first stash house you showed is actually 3 blocks away from my childhood home. I drove by it everyday on the way home from school. Life in Laredo is different. We don’t fully acknowledge what’s going on. I lived right next to the river, off of meadow, right before you hit chacon creek. My parents built a 12 foot fence to make sure people couldn’t get in. We always had big dogs outside so no one would sneak in. We’ve seen border patrol chases that lead to car crashes. The sad part is, it’s daily life. I met a man that was from Peru. He had crossed by himself and had just run from a cartel group that was trying to pick him up. He just wanted to see his wife and kids. We called his wife and actually spoke to her. He came back from Peru, he didn’t use the cartel, just waited for the right day. She picked him up and thanked us for not calling the cops. All we said was, he did it for his family. The first thing he did was kiss his wife and hug his kids. Before 2016, it wasn’t this bad. The cartel still didn’t have the influence it has now. The cartel has just made it worse there.

Title is misleading, yes Laredo has its fault but it ain’t that bad and it’s actually safer than this take.

My friends’ old best friend got busted for helping her boyfriend smuggle people across the texas boarder. I’m not sure how she still isn’t in jail yet but there were new articles and other stuff. I remember she claimed she was asleep in the back seat while this all happened. She’s currently pregnant now and due. They’re both bums and she was trying to prove her innocence on Facebook saying how she’s a good kid that got caught

First, my deep respect for all law enforcement agencies. Federal, State, County, and Local, thank you for being on the line. I'm a Laredo resident, and I can say that Laredo is a super safe city thanks to the immense amount of law enforcement around. The government takes care a lot of Laredo due to being the most important bridges in the whole USA. More than 60%, it's cross right here. You can't believe the number of local PD, state, and federal officers along the city and county(Webb). I will say that the worst areas are the Rio Grande Valley from Roma,TX to Harlingen, TX. That is insecure area. All the Texas border is a unique zones where the majority are bilingual and Bi-culture. It's hard to understand from the outside, but here we are proud of our Mexican ancestry, proud Texans, and proud to be Americans. A unique mix ..... God bless America and all blue in line!

Not sure on the officers name that was taking you around but he is AMAZING! Kind, has humility, and knows so much! It is interesting to hear migrants or Latin Americans saying we need stricter border patrol. Really takes the racism rebuttal and throws it in the garbage.

I really enjoyed the mostly unbiased, objective presentation you gave through this video. I am a bilingual baby boomer Hispanic that grew up with academic Spanish spoken at home. We were not allowed to use Spanish slang. I grew up in Texas along the coast. Allow me to compliment your Spanish. It is fairly good and you did a great job of communicating with the lady that you interviewed outside her home about the situation in her neighborhood. Here is where your Spanish comprehension showed a kink in the armor. I do not know if you translated her comments into English or if you used a digital translator. The lady stated that Immigration arrived & arrested some men. The English translation states "The migration.." Immigration & migration, while related, are two different words. At that the end of that sentence she stated that they handcuffed them. The Spanish word for handcuffs is "esposas" and Spanish word for "to handcuff" is "esposar." The word "esposas" can be literally translated to "wives" (or spouse) but context should tell you that spouse is not the correct word when you are speaking about an arrest that involves being handcuffed. So, using a digital translator can expose the issue that translators don't recognize culturally used vocabulary. That occurs again in her interview a sentence or two later when she used the word (a slang) "mojaditos." "Mojado" or "mojaditos" as she used, is slang for the English, "wetback." The word can be used derogatorily or, as she did, she adds the diminutive ending, "-ito" to indicate an endearing or respectful tone. I would caution against the use of digital translators. Be aware of cultural linguistics. Finally, in your final comments you mention that the illegal immigrants on the Texas border were not eating cats and dogs. Once again you need to be cautious of cultures. As an Asian, which you also mention in this context, you are aware that not all Asians are alike. Not all Asians have the same cultural practices. Just like you don't like being lumped into a generic Asian culture, you should also not do that same with Hispanic cultures. Mexicans & Salvadorans, for examples, are ethnic cousins with so many similarities, even some appearances. They simply don't like being compared. Two similar cultures that, in the practice of their culture are very different. Research the cultural habits of the Hispanic group that is the context of Trumps comment before you lump us all in. There are some Hispanic cultures (extremely few) that, in their poorer neighborhoods or villages, will eat cats & dogs. So, do deeper homework on the different cultural nuances between the 21 Hispanic countries that exist. Yes, 21 and all have different cultures and different sub-cultures...kinda like the diversity of Asians. Keep up these videos. Again, your Spanish is really good, just be more conscious of translations (words and cultural differences).
