Tapping with a drill or impact is fine! When welding always push, it it focuses the heat ahead of you preheating the metal for better penetration.

It really does something to me for someone to talk down on a person trying to learn something new as if you came out your mom just a professional. Every one has to start somewhere. And even people that been doing it forever make mistakes too. So don’t let no one discourage you from learning Instead of talking down offer advice

As for our girl Allison you are such an inspiration to all females that race cars and wrench on them as well. Your welding skills are coming along beautifully don’t let the naysayers discourage you there are very few women who can even weld half as good as you at the level you’re at. Soon you will be out performing even males that try to weld. Tommy if I were you I would put a ring on that girl like now. Very great luck to you guys. 👊🏻✌🏻
