The bottom line is 2pac and biggie was the two biggest rappers in the world at that time. One was the top artist on the east coast and the other was the top artist on the west coast. Now if both of them was alive today they still would be probably dominating the industry that's how powerful both of their music was respectfully.

That's not quite The Truth. One has been touted as The Top of NY, even though he has been vying with fellow NY artists for that position, and The Other has been touted as The Top all over The US. Note that it never has been an East Coast vs West Coast beef. In 1996, The South was riding with Pac, even from Virginia, Maryland, D.C. down to Miami Dade County over to Louisiana, Texas etc.
