"Cooking for all you nice people has helped me get over the fact that I fought in the Vietnam War." That is probably the single most ridiculous line in the whole movie, and that's saying something. Its especially funny since he had spent the entire movie up until that point looking at all the people eating his food in complete and utter disgust. He called them "slops" and even threw a fork at the head counselor's plate like as if it was a projectile.
