That's the most I've heard Gene speak. He was the definition of "keeping it real". Very humble. Rare in artists these days.

Gene keeps his dignity and integrity while having to face rubbishy questions from a patronising arschlog interviewer. You can tell if someone's being sincere by where their voice comes from - from Gene it's right down there from the depths of his soul. In the year of his death he sounds so much at peace with himself, despite all that pain he was going through. RIP in rock'n'roll heaven, Gene.

Not once did the interviewer ask Gene who his influences are or really bother to listen to him, what a wasted opportunity. The same stuff about his leg , black leather, violence etc , about the level of a tabloid journalist. Still its great to hear Gene's voice even if he's being baited, the man stayed the same till the end.

It was nothing to do with the black leathers! I bought GENE's records in the 1950's before we even knew what he looked like! It was all to do with the MUSIC.

A serious journalist should be well-informed and objective. This interwiever ist just a wannabe. What a contrast to such a man and real artist like Gene Vincent.

Not only was he (the interviewer) condescending, but it's clear that he also didn't do his research.

While I can't say that I agree, I nevertheless think that Mr. Craddock's opinion on what musical dislike actually is, is interesting: "All music is good. Music...well opera is fantastic, but I am too stupid in my mind to accept what the artist is trying to put across to me, you see? So that's not his fault, that's mine, so I blame myself, okay?"
