Martin Rossiter's voice on that final line is one of his finest moments. I remember buying this album back around 1997

Gene were an English band in the 90's , got lumped into the Britpop category. Great musicians, distinctive singer, cool guitarist. My favourite of theirs is still "London Can You Wait" . The song "Wasteland" was on The Jam's 1979 album "Setting Sons" , written by Paul Weller.

@@englandsfashion3333 Setting Sons was my first Jam album , I was 10 and still love it. Stanley Road is a classic , still a big album with me ! Just recently, I started listening to his first solo album again and again lol 👍
