Question about the breaker box. It says turn on 11, 28, 30. I get 11, the sump pump which protects the basement. But 28 and 30 were the washer and dryer? Was that just the old position for a back feed prior to the whole house generator? Looks like a great install.

great question. the house was built in 1986. i think the 11.28.30 thing was from then. not sure why. prolly what you said. sump. the generator was just put in 3 years ago. hopefully someone can comment on your question. i honestly dont know.

In my last house before I added a Gen interlock kit, I had developed a protocol for back feeding. #14 was the sump pump, 28+30 was the 240v run to my outbuilding where the generator was run. So the start up sequence depended on if there was water on the floor. Turn on 28, 30, an 14, start up the generator, plug in the generator once warmed up and that fires up the sump pump to get rid of the water. Then the Fridge, Freezer, furnace and other emergency system are started if needed once the generator was warmed up. but that sounds like a thing that you do when you were in the 80 and before transfer switches were readily available.@@ShutterMafiaStudios1
