In the case of an EU company importing goods from Asia under their own brand/design, is there any requirements to mention the actual factory name and contact information in the labels/documentation? Since the company counts as both a manufacturer and importer, the Asian manufacturer information should be able to be excluded, right? Since the EU company is the responsible person, not the Asian manufacturer.

In the case of print on demand, is it the responsibility of the seller or the manufacturer, ie the company doing the order fulfilment, that has to appoint a responsible person, and do all the other requirements?

So, I live in England, but when one of my print on demand products sells in the EU, it is printed by a fulfilment centre within the EU and dispatched from there.

The EU cannot possibility find something more useless and bureaucratic, what on earth is going on in the world today ????

The simple solution is to not sell to the EU The United States is also implementing new systems that will make life harder for companies selling unsafe products as early as Q1 2025.

It's called consumer rights: the right to be sold safe and compliant goods and the ability to sue the seller in our jurisdiction if the product is unsafe etc.

Bureaucratic nonsense. Surely that non-entity known as the EU have more pressing matters to attend to?

What exactly is the problem? If you sell to consumers into the EU it's quite reasonable that the authorities have a contact point in case there are issues. Or do you think companies should be able walk away and remain anonymous when children choke to death on unsafe toys that don't meet basic safety standards? Many of us consider this quite a pressing matter to attend to.
