These two actors are absolutely great. They deserve a prize. I have seen them in an interview after this series aired and finished. And I was very surprised. They are the total opposite of the characters they play. Caesar Wu was funny, self concious and loveable, very eloquent. And Tang Min was very shy, quiet, unsure, relying very much on Caesar to answer any question. She only gave single word answers and you could see she still was very insecure and anxious to make mistakes. She literally hid behind Caesar. So this tells me that these two are really superb actors, to play their characters in such a convincing way that makes you think they ARE what they play. But they're not. They're so different.

How ironic his love confession is. He signed a divorced because he can't afford to let her always worry about him. But then he saw this other man and he suddenly couldn't bear any other man touching her. Since he signed a divorce that means another man get to be intimate with her. All of a sudden he realized how absurd his idea of divorce is. Hehe. 😏🤗 Btw his confession went through 3 stages. 1. Threat. "I'm a general and must not show weakness. 2. Compromise. This is my favorite scene in all of the episodes. You see the transformation of emotions in the general. The regret and wish to apologize turning to fear that she stopped loving him and chose another man than him. Then partial relief when he found the man but turned to worry where she is. Then anger knowing she is just wanting not to be found after looking for her everywhere even inquiring if she was seen passing through the only entry or exit point of his stronghold. Leading him to the very last and only place he could think of where she could be. I believe, by deduction, he knew she is there. Being a military man, he threatened punishment to make her show herself, even the threat of telling the emperor on her abandoning her duty, then negotiation of letting her have her way in the camp just to get her back or at least come out. But when even that didn't work, he became desperate and then he surrendered. Surrendered to his feelings. Surrendered to her his heart because that is all that is left for him to give to get her back. Finally he called her his lady again, the very term he prohibited everyone to address her in his final attempt to push her away the night before. As he called her his lady, she heard he was speaking from his heart. And it was his heart that she wanted from the very start. All she wanted was for him to be true to his own heart. All she needed was his love.
