This is next level network engineering mad scientist type stuff! Really impressive explanation on how to get going with it, thank you for the free info! :)

By far the coolest EVE-NG videos you've done. Very awesome.

You not only provide informative information, but you also motivate. Because of that alone I subscribed. Great content overall! Even though the specific episode is not in my range of interest you kept me glued.

I want to add on to this. You have in a sense renewed my interest in to networking. Previously, I had bought in to the whole network engineering is become obsolete. This is untrue for many environments.

Great video showing the basics of setting up Ostinato in EVE-NG and creating a SIP stream. Ostinato author - Srivats here. Just yesterday, I added ostinato.org/docs/eveng which includes instructions on how to setup Ostinato in EVE-NG. This video is better though :-). However, that page includes instructions for the latest Ostinato version, if you are interested. The UX is much better with the latest version not to mention the bugfixes and new features since v0.8. I'm always open to feedback and suggestions - so feel free to let me know. PS - you can also import a PCAP file directly into Ostinato, edit and replay it!

I love that you can import a PCAP! Wow! Pinned this

How did you install ostinato as a docker image? I can't find that specific video on how to add your own docker images::: Seconds later I found it in the EVE-NG cookbook... For others, on the EVE-NG CLI type 'apt install eve-ng-ostinato'

is still possible to use Ostinato when there is no internet access on the eve-ng, because I'm using company server and no internet access on it ?

Could you make a video of how to use Ostinato Docker on eve-pro? The Docker in Eve-pro comes with just one interface by default and is drone and server in one. I am not able to get it to work properly. Thank you

Hi! does it do the same with RTP voice packets with random ports? SIP is control plane for voice, right? thanks !
@DataKnox4 жыл бұрын
As long as it is Text based, there is an Unknown protocol option. The vEdge devices only do DPI on layer 5+, so it will see RTP correctly. For instance, I tried omitting a payload originally for SIP, thinking it would see Dest Port 5060 and know that is SIP, but vEdge just saw that as TCP traffic. It really is inspecting the payloads only.

Hey Knox, Have you checked Linux Netem to simulate packet loss, latency, jitter? It's really helpful to study SLA :)
@DataKnox4 жыл бұрын
I haven’t, but I will. You can simulate loss, latency, and jitter in EVE-NG by just right clicking on a link and choosing “Edit quality”
@danilotorlai39164 жыл бұрын
@@DataKnox On the community version this option is not availavle, so Netem is an option :D
