I'm happy to see this option as I've requested it a few years. The only question and request I have is. How do you add an author image without having to connect to Gravatar? Gravatar is fairly dated and I'd much rather be able to add the author image directly into Wordpress and then have it pulled into the GeneratePress author block than to rely on Gravatar for author images.

As far as I understand, Wordpress doesn't allow a user image to be uploaded from the media library unless you are using a plugin. If that becomes a more popular option than Gravatar or WordPress built-in a default option for that then I'm sure we will can make it work :)

when i click on the author name link it sends me to the home page, not to the author files url. that could be happening?

Thanks Leo - what if one author had a particular social media link and another didn't - is conditional logic built in, or would it still display the icon with no link ?

That's built-in - no icon would display if the field is empty.

The icons will disappear if no social URL is added for a specific author.
