Generating an STL Model from a CBCT Scan of an Impression

This video shows how anyone with any conebeam machine can generate an accurate STL by merely scanning a PVS impression with your conebeam and then using the Blue Sky Planning software.

Hi, this size of 3d model is same size as actual size? It is because "flip normals" is just converting outside of impression.

If you take a triple tray impression This technique should be modified. Running through Meshmixer what the best way to go about doing this?

Won't work well because there will be holes where the teeth occlude and you won't be able to invert

how do you scan the impression?

+Jeff Johnston I simply scanned the putty impression on the adult setting.......nothing special. You'll need some type of plate apparatus to set the impression on and almost all companies sell one that fits into the bite stick holder. When I used medium body material, I had to turn the settings down to child and got even better results by using the denture scanning aluminim can that sirona sells. Putty is simplest though

+syed rehman Make sure you've got the 3d rendering set on Surfaces preset. Also be sure that the the dicom of the impression is selected, otherwise you can't alter the density
