Constructive criticism: when you guys use complex sounds into the pedal like reverse delays, it's hard to figure out what is the result of the knob you're moving and what is part of the signal coming in. If the goal is to explain the controls I'd rather hear basic guitar chords into the pedal. Great job with the pedal though, seems amazing :D

I completely agree, with many of the already very processed sounds used for these demos it is often difficult to hear what the pedal is actually doing! The pedal seems fantastic though.

That coupled with the incredible creative minds behind it and the HUGE amount of options, this has all made Gen Loss MkII one of the most important pedals ever made. This thing is unbelievable I can just feel how much love and work went into it the sounds are practically dripping with nostalgia and personality. I can see someone truly had a love for this texture and era. I feel the same way about classic video games and love chiptune music different systems and eras had different sound chips with specific qualities which gave them all different feelings and personalities for various reasons like the way the ricoah2a03 had to step it’s triangle wave giving it a very specific tone. My dream is one day someone makes a chiptune pedal this extensive for classic systems like nes and genesis Atari etc. I don’t use PCs or midi but synth wise plagues Chiptsounds is kind for a good reason we need a pedal to match that love and craft!!! So many pedals claim to be lofi ior video game tones and really are not maybe just a fuzz and an octave nothing like the sampled tones would be But wow do I feel that love here that’s what this is for Lofi many many pedals claim to do lofi and kinda do but signal degradation alone doesn’t capture that sounds heck this is pure vaporwave in a pedal it’s magic I tell you I can’t wait to own one Sorry for the long post just so damn excited

Firstly let me say that you are all doing some seriously amazing things over there. I love this pedal and am seriously considering picking one up. I have a question though…why is the model knob not labeled or numbered and made to click into each different setting?
@ChaseBlissAudio
@ChaseBlissAudio 2 жыл бұрын
No clickable knob because it keeps with the Chase Bliss format, that we don't want to deviate from. Also we didn't add numbered artwork because we want the user to find the sound they like, rather than the specific tape model. That said, each tape model has an associated CC #, so you can be more exacting with MIDI implementation.

I have all the ones people have listed here, and RC-20 is my go-to. It has a lot of options, easy controls, and has the best final sound. VHS Audio Degradation Suite for Native Instruments (Reaktor) is free and is also decent. None of them sound as good as this demo, IMO. To access stereo features on Gen Loss you'll need to use TRS cables on the input and output jacks. You can use an insert adapter to convert the two TS cables to a single TRS. OR our very good friends at Old Blood make a product called Split/Meld that would work great in this application.
