Seolah i love you but you’re only 2-3 years older than the rest of the 949 crew… kind of chill on acting like there’s a 5-10 year gap 😭😭 i have friends that are 5 years older and we still be vibing the same. Just saying because repeatedly saying it might make the others a bit uncomfortable 🤎

Loved the genuineness of everyone on this POD ... the honesty from Jason and Paul was great to hear, they didn't buff over the tough topics, they got deep. The 949 POD have great contrast - I will be listening now. Kept me entertained for the entire 1h and 16 minutes which I wasn't expecting from a long episode. Dumb is my favourite interviewer, keep up the hardwork 😀

Dumbfounded questions were really putting people outside their comfort zone but I found those question the most exciting and rewarding to hear. It gets deep

I was there during the 2010-2015 age of edm and it’s considered the golden age of modern day edm. The reason why Asian people love it is because it’s a place of discovery and letting loose. Mfs be engineers, doctors, nurses, lawyers, accountants, or we be on that path and then you combine that with our Asian cultures, expectations, toxicity, patriarchy, and everything else and you get a group of people that just wanna break out of all that. Other music genres don’t do that. Rap and hip hop are both limiting because it’s about competition. Country has its own aesthetics that not everyone likes and pop can be a bit too corny. But at a rave, everyone is equal and everyone is free. Edm music itself is packed with emotions and the songs have minimal lyrics that anyone can interpret themselves. So it’s all about being free even if it’s only for a moment.

You're 100% right, rap is so toxic because everyone is trying so hard to be cool.

Compartmentalization and disassociation are coping mechanisms. In doing so, you tend to have memory loss in order to protect yourself. Therapy does teach you to unlock and deal with those hidden emotions. Coming from a broken family myself, it’s difficult to allow others in, however, self awareness is golden in order to heal. 💜 I appreciate you all.
