I went the Cheeki Brewki way and now my Nosorog is supported with Heart of the Oasis, Compass, Volat Emerald, Full Empty and Snowflake. ;D

If you can survive there well enough, the north is a lot better for artefact hunting. Finding a high tier artefact in an anomaly saves you so much time compared to hunting its lower tier ingredients one by one in Garbage or Yantar. Jupiter is great (especially the Concrete Bath anomaly), as is Zaton. The Vine anomaly in Outskirts can drop artefacts like "Bubble", which is pretty big as it is a high tier ingredient for both Compass and the Volat Emerald (Outskirts is *very* dangerous though!). Found a "Full Empty" in the northern anomaly in Limansk once, and Sin boys tend to carry artefacts, so Limansk might not be a terrible place to farm people and artefacts. For early/mid game, I tend to hunt in Army Warehouses; the anomaly north of the helicopter frequently drops "Wrenched" and "Empty" artefacts for me, which is exactly what you want as your first real artefacts.

Turns out it had changed the default folder for the saves. Copied the files to the new default location and all is well. It's a laptop belonging to my employer so it's best to allow updates to ensure security updates are done. But will make copies of saved files more often now!

This game is unforgiving as hell. I tried ironman bandit and got into a firefight where I nearly died about 3 times to both loners AND duty in garbage. Two of my bandit friends I brought with ended up dying. I didn't realise it at the time, but I think I shot or killed one of them by accident (they were being stupid, running into my line of fire while I was shooting at the loners). When I got back to the base, Olivius straight up tried assassinating me as I was about to get my money. I defended myself and killed him, with no medical supplies and being broke as hell now. I had to run away through truck cemetery because now all the bandits were aggro towards me. I narrowly survived by ducking into a campfire and then made my way up to the army warehouses. I decided I'd have to become Freedom even though I didn't like them, because staying a bandit was a bridge already long burned. After all this, I did one mission with them and immediately got caught off-guard by two wild boars who killed me nearly instantly. 10/10 pain experience.

Then I get ambushed out of nowhere by two boars who come around some pipe and there was nothing I could do to avoid them. Life as a STALKER in the zone is a hard one.

it does 3 extra damage compared to tthe base one, i think. And you can attach NATO scopes as well as Pact ones. Unfortunately the VSS Merc is the best one... something I deeply resent. A 9x39 weapon w/ a tacticool makeover ruining the beautiful soviet woodwork should never be put into the hands of a bourgeois mercenary! It's disgraceful to the motherland and an affront to the Theotokos and God.

Idk, I think you have to suffer in Limansk keeping all the companions alive to then push hospital and generators with them. I had 2 companions of my own + all 6 given in limansk + 3 loners asked to guide them + rogue, that doomstuck made enemies fear and flee; and chasing Chernobog in CNPP when he refuses to fight is both funny and frustrating

I know in Vanilla, the enemies can hear you reload, so it's probably the same for Gamma/Anomaly but includes eating and other activities. I always use that to my advantage and reload when I want to bait them into pushing.

This was just before the anniversary update so I was just running with the default gamma reshade preset (don't remember which one it was tbh). I'm playing with the new update atm that has reshade disabled by default, and I'm actually enjoying the smoother game experience so I didn't look into turning it on again!

Headshots are with the ASH but theres no need to get hung up on them, it eats a lot of time. A handful of shots center of mass gets the job done with the ASH and it allows you to stay mobile and responsive.

Just tweak the ZCP and other settings until you like it. I have it so I can find any quality weapon on anybody so I don't have to spend 40 hours of grinding just to get a decent gun or armor

GAMMA looks so cool when you play it :D The only minus for me is that the weapons are looking far to modern and clean. There should be a lot more makeshift guns, worned down and damage looking ones. Probably very difficult to mod but it just looks odd

Nope I always play the "vanilla" gamma experience, never felt the need to add more stuff on top of it! I tweak some of the settings to my liking (like a slightly upped artifact spawn chance on this run) but that's pretty much it.

Ce run était avant "l'anniversary update" donc oui yavait encore reshade, par contre quel preset je sais plus, celui par défaut xD La je joue avec le dernier update qui a reshade désactivé par défaut et je trouve le jeu beaucoup plus fluide donc j'ai pas cherché à le remettre!

Before I spend a lot of time in garbage / Yantar / Army wharehouses, you find quite a bit and its relatively safe. After it depends, up north you find better stuff but its much more dangerous and the maps are bigger so its more time consuming, I will always check when i'm not far from an anomaly just in case, but I don't do big arti hunts in the North.

Stats are not all, some weapons just have crazy recoil and it is not displayed in stats. Also ballistics and ammo costs can be the cornerstone of your adaptability. I like 7.62 Storm, but in full upgrades its bullets just fly faster than my brain can account for. You can see that his VSS Savant is realy smooth to push full auto and hit all clip. While SR has good accuracy and penetration, in full fire, it just wastes more bullets than is sustainable. Also 9×39 has a lot of compatible rifles and therefore can be recovered from more bodies then old NATO rounds.

I can drop power armour users in milliseconds with AP 9x39 on the SR-3M, and even full auto it's basically a laser. Never used the VSS, though. @@EtherialofNowhere

IIRC enemy behavior is set in a certain way - they often rush your position every time you open inventory. And maybe do something in it? Once you figure it out it might trivialize the game.

The weapon sound mod in Gamma sounds terrible, why is that. So many great weapon sound mods out there, is it just using base JSRS or something? Either way it doesn't sound good.
