bilkul thik bat hai hamara anubhav bhi kuchh asa raha hai. meri wife 15 year se thyroid ki problem hai saal pehle hamne bhi genric medicin (thyroxin 100 micro gram) par shift kiya tha after two month test karane par report me proble aa gayi thi. bad me branded medicin dobara shuru karne par normal ho gayi. isse pehle kabhi bhi medicin lete samay kabhi bhi reports abnormal nahi aayi thi. tab se aaj tak ham branded medicin hi use karte hai.

I have been on antihypertensive beta blockers for last 30 years. Few days before I bought generic salt in same. After 4 days my condition worsened, my palpitation increased. I had to go back on previous branded versions then only I felt better. I went on researching and a research paper in Canadian journal of medicine was published which was done on hypertensive patients using generic versus branded. The final result was in nutshell that generic medicine they use the inert material for mixing the medicine salts, was of inferior quality and that inert chemicals caused reactions in large number of patients. Dr. Kalra is saying correct.

It might be that there is not minimum quantity per pharmacopeia which has to be minimum 98.5% and the company manufacturing is not reliable....pl get that medicine tested for active ingredients with respect to claimed potency.

Sir being a chemist I very well know how people just want discount on purchase of med and just become blind on what is given by chemist whether he has substituted with a third class branded genric or what.Only thing which is in their mind is how much discount has been given so mostly well educated and people with cars argue for discount and fall in trap of genric med.. Labourer or lower class person want med and they don't argue on discount they may take med for lessor no of day in one go but they mostly buy branded.Your video is good information for those people who can afford but only go for big discount. 👍👍👍

i am chemist.sir aapki baat kadwi or 100% sachi hai.hamare paas bhi patients aate hai jo generic med use karte the or unka case kharab ho gaya fir hospital me lakho lagane ke baad fir se branded per switch hue hai .or ek baat ...hum bhi generic ki quality ke baare me jante hai but jo patient 15 ya 20% discount mangta hai to hume majboori me generic med deni padti hai .so plz dont argue for discount .

generic medicine have the same potency to the branded medicine. You have to consult pharmacetical chemistry book. where it is clearly written that 1-2% is difference . If you have paracetamol 500. then it compostion differ with only 2% otherwise its drug lisence will be cancelled by the drug control authroity. So dr sir, please consult any college lecture or proffesor of Pharmacy college . who have degree of Mpharm or PHd . if you do not belive us. I am a registard pharmacist. arindam kolkata.

If any pharma company is manufacturing spurious drug it's the fault of that pharma company, according to pharmacopeia no method of manufacturing is wrong it applies on generic medicine too same as branded one, it's the fault of pharma manufacturing plant and other is of government which let these companies circulate this kind of drug in market. Government should cancel the licence of these kind of companies

Bhai pharma companies ke liye ab koi rule aana chahiye jisse ye janta ko naa loot ske. 2 rs ko tablet ye 200 ki bekte hai kyoki doctors ka fee se pet nhi bharta unhe company se commission chahiye. Ultrasound 400/- ka hota tha ek dam 800/- se 1000/- ho gya kyoki doctors ko 300/- par ultrasound chahiye isliye rate bddha.

Thanks for an informative video. I may please add that in US medicine patents are given for 20 years to the inventor. In india also situation is more or less same. Thus during this period of 20 years any foreign/ domestic company holding the patent can voluntarily give licence to other company to manufacture that drug in India . In this scenario also it will be called patented drug [branded , naturally]. In return the co. manufacturing it will give royalty to patent holder. Sometimes the patent holder co. only gives marketing rights to indian company, example ; Boehringer of Germany gave marketing licence to Lupin to market its patented drug Trajenta [ Ondero] in india
