Red Panther right. I have noticed asav offense is similar to nate. However, the biggest difference is, that asav can actually counter more aggressively. Noticed when he's attacked, his defense is pretty solid. He waits for the attack and counters it. While nate never really had any good defense when he fought. He was more offense type. Except with his fight with the former black ops guy in uc3 at the end. He did good to defend against the knife.

No matter how good a fighter is there's always a better fighter somewhere in the world. Nate has a sloppy street brawl fighting style that works on other sloppy fighters. But Naidene, Chloe, and Asav have a more martial arts fighting style. That always wins when put up against a brawler.

@Medal Cat You are clearly overestimating Nadine. Refer to how she strikes in Lost Legacy when against Asav, she strikes just as fast as the mercenaries Nate casually kills. One of her attacks is kicking Asav in the face with an axe-kick, and it's telegraphed so hard as well as being quite slow that I'm shocked someone like Asav couldn't dodge that. Her plot armour is strong. They were fast. Especially with their counter-attacks. Heck they were considerably as fast as Nadine herself. LOL, so Nadine was trained since birth? Send me a link justifying your claim, because at NO point in Uncharted 4 do they say that. Heck even her bio doesn't say that. Before you say: "ShE's A mErCeNaRy," Refer to the thousands of mercenaries Nate has fought and killed. Lazarević's soldiers, Roman's mercenaries, and Shoreline all seem to be mixed on martial arts actually. Lazarević's soldiers and Shoreline are great at placing Nate into arm-bars, and Lazarević soldiers also throw-in wrist-locks for Nate, which all seem Jiu-Jitsu influenced, as arm-bars and wrist-locks commonly come from Jiu-Jitsu. Also, Jiu-Jitsu is very commonly taught in the military, outside of Krav Maga. Talbot was a martial artist. Sure he didn't utilise round-house kicks, but pay attention to how he fights. His steady and balanced-out stance both with the knife and without it, how he reacts quickly with Nate's attacks, how he redirects or manipulates Nate's attacks, how tough and strong he is, etc. Nate isn't a skilled brawler. Incase you didn't bother watching my Nathan Drake Military and Martial Arts moments video, Nate is certainly MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) with his approach at fighting. His punches largely seem to be boxer-influenced with his hooks, jaw-breaking upper-cuts, and killer swings, his elbow and knee-strikes, round-house kicks, and back-hands all seem to be Karate influenced, his head-butts, drop-kicks, slashers, double-axe handles, and suplexes seem to be Pro Wrestling influenced, his Kotegaeshi's and others seem to be Jiu-Jitsu influenced, and his weapons-play (and how they seeminglessly play into combat) seem to be Combat Shooting influenced. He leaks into Taekwondo with his side-kicks to the face and others. He also leaks a bit into Krav Maga with his shtick of snapping his foes' arms to disarm them. Also, you are aware that brawlers MOST OF THE TIME defeat master martial artists, right? There are tons if videos discussing why brawlers mostly win. So if Nate's a brawler and Nadine's a martial artist, than I guess Nate wins by default.

@Medal Cat It's hard to consider Nadine's victories canon. They're never brought-up again and aren't plot-constructed at all, therefore rarely accurate. TMNT (2007) can teach you that. Nate can also charge into battle without a gun. But he's not stupid, he knows when appropriate and not. You're not forced to kill the soldiers with your guns all the time, you can still use your fists. There are some moments throughout the games that has Nate forced to use his guns, sure. But a lot of the time you can mix your approach and sometimes you're forced to rely on nothing but your fists and the environment. Uncharted 3 literally had 3 levels dedicated to doing this. Again, she strikes just as fast as the mercenaries in the prior games, both with combos and not. The people Nate fight don't always back-down. Rafe and Draza were the only people who did this. Guerro, Dante, Navarro, etc didn't do this, and they all engaged head-on. Also, Nadine does back-out on fighting in the Asav fight during the end. Specifically when you're supposed to back him onto the bomb. If you don't attack Nadine wouldn't bother attacking and Asav would wreck her with combos, so she also backs-down. LOL, she doesn't need an entire game based around the fact she learned something. I guess a random citizen in any of the Uncharted games need their own spin-off because they learned something like 2+7=9. After re-watching the Talbot fights, I SOMEWHAT agree. It's like, yeah, I struggle to call him a martial artist now, but he's certainly a skilled fighter. I haven't changed my mind on that. LOL, so knuckles don't count as weapons I guess? NO ONE would want to be hit by knuckles, especially in the face. Do you have any idea how much that'd hurt? Have you ever been in fights or street-brawls? I have. It hurts so much getting punched. Especially upper-cuts. Also, Talbot fought Nate twice. One was with his fists (and Nate still dodged all of his attacks) and the other wa with the knife. Also, way to completely disregard EVERY other fight Nate has experienced where he dodges foes who use their fists. That argument is so flawed. Nadine climbing is an inconsistency throughout Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Because we're given 0 ways to justify this and she's been seen throughout the game struggling to tank things Nate brushed-off in seconds. Like before the first Asav fight where Asav used an armoured military vehicle and rammed her through a brick wall with it, it took her 8+ seconds to recover. Compare that to Nate in Uncharted 4, who tanked something almost identical to that, yet brushed it off in around 2 seconds and got up and run from the thing. So she's not a "little weaker", she's way weaker. The climbing segments do not count, but anything outside of that can be taken into consideration. What we got outside of climbing hasn't been favourable for Nadine by the slightest. So she fought foes as big or bigger than Nate yet lost to Asav? Perfect logic.

Lol, I love the way Asav can defeat Nadine AND Chloe (Even when they're working together), yet Nate could barely land a hit on Nadine. Despite Nate has been trained as a Navy Seal and Asav has little to no combat training, but he was a doctor. Chloe’s martial arts in LL are carried over from Nate’s in UC4, those being Boxing, Karate, Jiu-Jitsu, Pro Wrestling, Muay Thai, Kali, and possibly Krav Maga though that’s a bit skeptical. Asav’s backbone appears to largely be Muay Thai, and Nadine’s is Karate with some Judo thrown into the mix. Though they’re both a bit skeptical given how we don’t have too much material to work with them, especially Asav.

@@zaiah9252 First of all, Nate’s killed elite intelligence officers in combat and outmatched Talbot who is a black-ops trained Kali knife fighter, fighting someone who’s calculated would be absolutely 0 issue. Secondly, I doubt retirement was an issue for Nate (otherwise explain why Nate was kicking ass throughout the whole game except for Nadine, hell he legit defeated Rafe in a sword fight). Thirdly, Asav isn’t physically superior to Nate LOL, no way in hell. Nate can push 20 ton boulders off cliffs, lift 10 ton pillars, punch people through walls and through furniture, murder brutes built 10x his size with his bear hands, etc. Asav is nowhere near as strong as Nate.

Better question is why in the absolute hell did Chloe actually HIRE Nadine? Nadine flatout constantly stated throughout the game she knows nothing about treasure hunting and is of no help to Chloe at all, and so, why’d she hire her? Furthermore, she also hired Sam (someone who’s actually good at treasure hunting) despite the fact she was more than cognisant of his bad history with Nadine, so again, why’d she hire her? Additionally, Chloe has had a very bad rep with leaders of private militias (Talbot, the Roses, Marlowe, and Lazarević) and so, like, why the hell did she hire the former leader of a private militia (who constantly stated wanted to revive Shoreline)? Atrocious writing right there. Legit could’ve done ONE thing to fix all of this nonsense: have Chloe hire Charlie Cutter, boom.
