I nearly skipped over this first video but I'm glad I was convicted not to. When you speak of the natural world being a reflection of God it makes a whole lot of sense to me. Even before I wanted to admit what it was I would sometimes stop and take in the beauty and amazement of the world. There was a feeling of awe included in that too. Turns out I was feeling the glory and power of God. I still search for these moments but I will now have a deeper understanding of the feeling that goes in tandem.

He made the teaching clear, factually the earth does not depend on the sun, it depends on God's light, the plants, in both the land and sea were created prior to the mechanism of time keeping as it was given to the earth via the sun and the moon and the stars. Therefore the lunar calendar, when extrapolated backwards does not capture all of creation. Man however was told the story, and so it was Adam and his progeny especially through Noah to Abraham and to Moses and the Jews (and ultimately to Jesus Christ) in general to be entrusted as the keepers of time/Sabbath until it was to be shared with the Gentiles. So when you observe the Sabbath even as a Christian, you are acknowledging God's seal of ownership over yourself, time and all of creation. This careful lecture gives learners such as myself time to go far beyond what years of rushing through the first part of Genesis has allowed. Thank you for this series. (If anyone disagrees with what I have written I suggest you go through the lecture again maybe even with your bible open.)

I had some great take aways from this. Couple of things on my mind is the assumption that vegetation was our first source of food and the likeness to create. I may be wrong on this but we were created last so why would vegetation be assumed as our main source of food or that it was created for breathable air? The last thing is how could we create if we didn't get knowledge until the Garden of Eden with the eating of the forbidden fruit? Again this is just me trying to understand, thanks.

Hi, Thanks for taking the time to make this video, I was wondering, if Jesus has always been in existence with God, how is it that God speaks Him into existence as the light you refer to in Genesis 1? Is it that God spoke Him into physical existence within the universe but that He was already existing before, not physically? Or is it that you did not mean it literally? thanks

Problem is within a few minutes the claim that god made something from nothing is NOT in the text he is talking about *(Genesis 1:1). Learn Hebrew and get a good commentary. Why do apologists continually embellish the text and attempt to make it say something it is not saying? So frustrating!!

Probably the whole of Genesis ch.1 is a loanword from an ancient Sumerian praise hymn to creation (a priestly hymn related to the fertility calendar), inserted in book of "Genesis", only after the return of the Jews from the Babylonian captivity, carried out by the scribe Ezra. It seems that the Sumerians counted the year as 6 double (solar-lunar) months of 60 days each, which seems to be the basis of the text of Gen. ch.1 When the first (solar) half of the double 60-day month (~ 30.4 Sun days) ended, "evening" came. And when the second (lunar part of ~ 29.5 days) passed - the "morning" of the new solar-lunar (60-day) double month (time period) came. It is the expression "and there was evening and there was morning" (see Genesis 1: 5,8,13,19,23,31) that reveals exactly this very specific way of counting the Sumerian year (6x60 days). The first double month began on December 22 - "Let there be light!" - in the oldest myths it is always the day of the Winter Solstice. After 60 days, the second double (solar-lunar 60-day) month came - characterized by an ebb of the waters, during which drought appeared. After another 60 days - the new crop emerged - on trees and all kinds of seed-bearing grasses. After another 60 days, summer came - associated with the largest religious cults of worship to the two (large and small) celestial luminaries. After another 60 days in Sumer came the time when fish and birds multiplied. Finally, the last 6th part was devoted to the fertility of animals and the authority given to man by the creators over all creation. Most likely, the scribe Ezra plagiarized and crafty adapted this ancient Sumerian hymn as a priestly (badly molded) justification for the requirement for the Jews (after the captivity) to observe the Sabbath - the seventh day, as a rest (allegedly since the time of creation). Genesis ch.1 - is a Jewish Priestly Fictions.

The Hebrew word "HAYA"" is incorrectly translated in Genesis 1:3 as "let there be". The word "HAYA" is the name of God "I AM", revealed to Moses in Exodus 3:14 :"And God said unto Moses 'I AM (HAYA) THAT I AM (HAYA)': and he said, thou shalt say unto the children of Israel: I AM (HAYA) hath sent me unto you". Genesis 1:3 should therefore be translated "and God said IAM (HAYA) the light." This is beautiful since this light here refers to Jesus being the light of the world. I thought you may like to know.

If Genesis 1:1 mainly means 'God, who precedes everything, created everything', then Genesis 1:1 tells us nothing of who this God is in deep relation to everything. In other words, if this is what the verse mainly means, then the verse does not preclude the idea that this God is the aloof or incapable 'creator' of the deist-cum-evolutionist. Does v. 1 have to get it deeper value from the rest of the account? If so, then v. 1 is pretty shallow. But I do not think v. 1 need be interpreted as being mainly about this shallowness. For example, its merism, 'the heaven and the Earth' self-evidently is about a *relationship* between two things: the general cosmos and the special Earth. Thus v. 1 self-evidently implies that God is about relationship, not mainly or only about being 'The Precedent Creator' whatever that ever is supposed by anyone to imply. It may not be untrue, as far as it goes, to say such things as 'In the chronologically absolutely first instant, God created space and matter.' But, consider the depth to which v. 1 can express Divine Design: 1. the general cosmos and the special Earth. 2. The Earth, as its own general subject, implying that which we all intuit is most valuable about the Earth unto itself in all the cosmos: its abiding maximal abundance of open liquid water. 3. that water and its special relation to the Sun's light, hence the water cycle; 4. The water cycle and its special beneficiary and member, biology; 5. biology and its special category, animal biology (plant/animal/mineral = animal); 6. Animal biology and its special category, human; 7. The man and his wife (Genesis 2:21-23)
@markpaladiy57484 жыл бұрын
self evident both of the Completed Creation and of Genesis 1: 1. The general Heaven and is special Earth; 2. The Earth, as its own general, in its relation to its likewise cosmically unique possession: an abiding maximal abundance of liquid water; 3. Likewise, that water and its special cycle; 4. The water cycle and its special beneficiary and member, life; 5. Life and its special category, animal life (plant/animal/mineral = animal); 6. Animal life and its special category, human life; ...7. A man and his wife.

His very word is life and brings life. God is light and in hom is dark at all. John 1:5. I like KJV. and the firmament being used. In the Hebrew bible, dome is used for the translation firmament. The dome over is us is that firmament.
