Oh, don't waste your time reading the book your body & soul revolve around. Let other people tell you what's in it. Actually it's 2021 ( no Jesus ain't back yet). You don't even have to read the book. There are many audio bibles in various translations you can listen to the whole thing for free.

I started studying the Bible just about five years ago (~2019). Your channel was one of the most instrumental in helping me to quickly absorb the concepts and vital messages of Scripture, especially because I have chosen to use the KJV version which has antiquated language but I have a sense that it may preserve more of the truth then the more updated versions, just by virtue of Translation. I struggled with Genesis and the other books of the Old Testament until I encountered your channel. Thank you for putting these works together. It is wonderful to return at any time and be able to run your concise presentations to help me with my continuing studies. You are a blessing!

You pointed out a lot of parallels I hadn't noticed. For example, humanity starts out in a Garden Temple where they coexist with God. Later, after their separation, they try to build a temple that reaches heaven to be in God's realm. The idea of God cleansing the world with the waters of the flood got me thinking. Waters are used as a means of physical and spiritual cleansing, and that is echoed later in Jewish purification rituals and in baptism.

There's another parallel to the Tower of Babel that was just too intricate to make this video: Jacob's ladder. In the Tower of Babel story: - Humans are united - Humans seek to build a name for themselves - Humans build their own tower/temple to reach heaven - God divides them - This takes place in Babylon But in Jacob's dream in Genesis 28: - The family of Isaac is divided - God extends the blessings of Abraham to Jacob (including a "great name") - Jacob sees a tower already existing between God and earth - God promises to "spread out" Jacob's descendants, to bless all the nations (which will unite them) - This takes place in Canaan (Bethel, the "house of God")

Jacob doesn’t trick Esau, he gave him food in exchange for his birthright. I would agree that it was a sinful thing to do, but he didn’t trick him. The Bible doesn’t even insinuate that he was tricked. You can speculate all you want, and you can have whatever view on the matter, but what simply happened is that a transaction took place.

Thank you for your explanation. That was very helpful. I believe there are many versions of the bible and also many chapters hidden. So how do we know which is the right one and where do we start? So many things have revealed themselves in the recent times that I'm sure there is a God who's watching us. But also the devil is deceiving us and trying to get us by acting like he's God. I don't want to listen to the false God.
@RevLink3 жыл бұрын
I just wish it went into a little more detail. For instance, it says that Adam and Eve had their two sons, then Cain kills Abel, and suddenly there is a whole city full of people. Where did these other people come from? Did God create more people that just didn't get detailed in the book? Was there a whole lot of serious incest going on? It's very frustrating to me how Genesis is written. Major events are laid out in just one or two sentences. I wish we knew more.

How you doing Dani its in my heart to share this with you. It is true and facts that we are all created in the Image of God. The Bible say God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. We are a spirit who's covered with a body we posses a soul but the real is the inside: the spirit. The flesh is just a cover. The Bible say the Word is God and made flesh who is Jesus Christ: John 1:14. In order for God Spirit to walk on the earth and do the sacrifice for us He had to come through the Body of His Son. Or else He couldn't have been seen and do the sacrifice for us. So Jesus is the Image of the Father and we are made in the Image of the Father. Jesus had emotions, the Spirit and a Body. In John 14:8-9 reveals to us hat Jesus is God. And in genesis it sa John 14:8-9 Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? John 4:24 God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth

More than likely, in the King James version in this passage, God is speaking to himself in the manner that kings and queens do. Like when Queen Elizabeth says something like "We are most amused." That's just the way powerful entities in English as it was written in that time period spoke in certain instances. It makes the most logical sense.

@@stevenconte4714 No problem. Remember, that's just my interpretation, but it does make the most sense to me, especially in the KJV of the Bible that I grew up with. Lots of old-timey ways of wording things in there. Probably made more grammatical sense when it first came out, to those readers.
