Absolute pure f-ing gold! This would've been an amazing show to see. Peter seems more animated than normal in spots and it's great to see footage of him wearing that large helmet during Ikhnaton and Itsacon is amazing. So much greatness here I wish it was the whole show!

I was 9 so still too young. My first Genesis Concert wasn't till Duke in 80 (my very first concert was Yes Tourmato in 78... am sorry I missed Genesis in 78, they were just appearing on my radar at the time). I saw Steve Hackett last Friday (the 13) in L.A. playing Seconds Out (and more) which was the first Genesis album I ever bought. It was a great, long, and emotional show actually hearing Steve play all those incredible songs for the first time. Loved this clip. Some really great Phil moments, and though I have seen a bit of the "Genesis Live" era footage I think this is some of the most animated and varied Gabrial footage I have seen in one place.

Man Phil was a beast on drums. Nobody could ever come close to his grooves and technique he used. On top of that he had such a brilliant voice while he was working his way through every song while on drums. Unfortunately talent like that could never get popular like that again these days.

So cool to see this footage. I was at Long Beach Arena watching yes perform tales of topographic oceans the night before and the guy sitting next to me said you got to go see Genesis at the Santa Monica Civic tomorrow night. They blow the doors off what yes just performed”. Yes sewer consummate musicians and put on amazing show. Needless to say, I was skeptical. To this day almost 50 years later, and many many shows later. Genesis performance that night is probably the most memorable. They totally blew me away. P.S. Seeing Steve Hackett on 11/18.

Today it’s more like stop taking video and put your cell phone away so I can enjoy the show…it’s really annoying sometimes. At the same time, for some concerts (especially the larger ones) you end up with a few people in the front getting great stuff. I’d love to see front row, high quality videos of some of these shows.

If I was given the choice to go back in time for 1 tour I would pick this one, the 1974 Selling England. Yet, even with web and youtube memorabilia and rares, there seems to be more emphasis on "before" (earliest days) and "after" (The Lamb). SEBTP was a peak without equals :-(

@@filmneye Not, that concept was developed by Alejandro Jodorowsky on his failed version of Dune. He gave his script and storyboards to all Hollywood to get funding and got none but everybody ripped him off. Gabriel's concept of Lamb Lies Down on Broadway was inspired by Jodorowsky's films, in particular El Topo. Guess who make this film a cult classic screening at midnight in NYC? John Lennon, who began to dress like El Topo character.
