Unfortunately everyone gets old and loses the vitality of youth. Whether our heroes are athletes, actors, musicians or our parents. As someone who grew up as an adolescent and a teenager all in the 70s and who lived and breathed progressive rock from the age of 12/13, so many of my musical idols have passed away in the last decade or so. Keith Emerson, Greg Lake, John Wetton, Chris Squire, Alan Holdsworth, Rick Wright, and many more. I'm just thankful I saw Genesis live 10 times on 6 different tours, and Phil and his solo band 4 times. That's 14 incredible drum duets with Chester Thompson back there with Phil. And I've seen Steve Hackett about 12 times and counting. I'm thankful all of the Genesis guys are all still alive and kicking at this point.

Got inside at 6 p.m. from buying a $250 ticket for 50 bucks outside because the concert had already been going on all afternoon and the guy just wanted some money for that extra expensive ticket. All tickets were a lot, nobody actually knows about this. Floor seats were 500 bucks, lower bowl seats $250 and even the upper deck nosebleeds were 50 dollars. Mind you, this is 1988 dollar. Concert tickets were only 20 BUCKS back then. This concert was like 10 times the normal price. The show ended at 2 o'clock in the morning. So fun. So memorable.

Tony Banks, The Genius of keyboards, he can play anything, and it's flying through the Clouds. And the Virtuoso Mike Rutherford, the love he feels for his Genesis family is impressive ... that is seen in his big eyes, whenever he sees Phil Collins sing and shares the stage with his companions. They are all like brothers. And the drummer "Chester Thomson" is the older brother. LONG LIVE GENESIS !!!!

@242-f5u3 жыл бұрын
I agree on the headless guitars. Always looked like a video game instrument to me.
@andrekunkel15202 жыл бұрын
The design reasoning behind the “headless” guitar is so that the player has more convenient and unobstructed access to the tuning knobs which have been moved to the far bottom side, easily accessible by the players picking hand. Much more effortless and efficient to stay in tune without having to reach out in front of themselves to the far, top end of the neck. Also, the strings are strung backwards with the ball ends, locked at the top end of the neck.

I love Supper’s Ready, Domino, Home By the Sea and Driving the Last Spike. But once you play those....you have like one hour left in a live show. For a gig like this where they only have 15 minutes to play......what would be better than a medley? Turn it on again, Misunderstanding and Invisible Touch? Firth of Fifth, Duchess, I Know What I Like and Afterglow? Or a nice medley displaying their careers? Medleys have their place.
