Having loved this band for over 40 years and seen them on countless occasions i never thought i would see them live again after the 2007 concert tours. I am incredibly grateful that I had the chance to say thank you and goodbye to them, regardless of any set list. Yes, I would like to have heard more from Wind and Wuthering, and then there were three, abacab, the knife etc. etc. but where do you stop? Genesis I salute you for doing this one more time!!!

Man, hearing this opening brought a tear to my eye. My dear Genesis onstage again after 14 years and having overcome significant challenges and setbacks. It tells you how badly they wanted to put this together and I love them even more for it. I miss Chester, but I’ll tell you what. As a father, seeing Nic playing as beautify and powerfully as he does, is something truly special. Probably lifts the band. Bravo, Nic! 🤙🏻 Tony, Phil, Mike, Daryl, and Nic (and background singers)- thank you so much. You sound and look GREAT! I cannot wait to see you.

I'm going to write something, using a google translator: really, fuck the critics, and the negative comments. Genesis is a spectacular band, they have been playing for almost 50 years, giving lectures on music and staging, They are 70 years old and they sound great, Phil has notorious physical problems, and yet he still has the impetus to travel the world with his music, an incredible artist. Applause for being at that age on stage, when many of those who write will be underground at that age, without having 10% of the trajectory of these musicians. What are you waiting for? that at 70 yo they sound like in the 70 'or 80', with the same energy? They are older, more tired, Phil with physical problems, but still, they have the courage and the talent to go on stage. Around there I read "this is not genesis". Wrong, this is precisely genesis, a band that was able to come forward several times, demonstrating its musical quality over and over again, despite the criticism and the moments. I repeat, fuck the Internet critics, those who write from the comfort of their technological devices and who in their fucking life have played the flute.

Incredible that they put up a last tour again. Even though Phil Collins can't play drums, he has put his faith in Nic, and that's a great achievement in my eyes. And he does what he do best and that's to sing the songs like he can in his own style. I wish I had a ticket to see one of the concers. That would have been a star in my book.

I choked up hearing this. It starts off with Behind the Lines, which was literally the first Genesis song I ever heard. We had the Duke album in our record collection when I was growing up. No idea who bought it but I put it on one day. I used to roller skate around the play room in our house while listening to vinyl. When the song started I wasn't sure if I liked Genesis or not. The song had a longer instrumental intro than I was used it. But then I heard the first lyric, "I held the book so tightly in my hands." and that was all I needed. Listened to the rest of the album and loved it and every other Genesis album since and all the ones before. Phenomenal band and I'm sorry to be missing their return. Thank you for posting this. 🎶 💕

The first time I heard Genesis it was Seconds Out. A friend lent me the album and said listen to it, it’s great, I’d think you would enjoy it!! When I got home I put the vinyl the player, sat between the speakers in the sweet spot and I was hooked!! All though my music taste has changed over the years Genesis has always been my favourite and constantly on my play list. I’m really glad you liked listening to the videos, I’ve actually played them my self a few times 😎

@@concertwow670 I love Seconds Out. What a great album to get hooked on Genesis. I didn't hear that one until years later because back then, I only had access to what was in stock at the record stores within walking distance from my house (fondly remembering a time when there was more than one!).

Thanks for the upload, great video quality. So glade that this tour is really happening and kicked off last night, still sounds like Genesis and Phil is doin what he can with his voice - god bless him for what he did and gave us in the last 50 years. Its tough to see him not behind drums and i still wonder why there is no technology or toll which would allow him to play some sort of digital drum pads. If they had a light and screen show like this in 2007 it would have been the perfect Genesis experience. I was thinking about the tragedy of Michael Jackson's death in 2009, the tour that never happened. Health should always go first, no pressure on Phil. Wish they would add some EU concert dates in germany, france and other countries.

Let me say this. 1 . I like Genesis. It's one of my favourite bands. I saw them three times on stage. So, for me, my post is not negative : it's balanced. If you read, there are positive points ( the show, the musicians, the sound ) and weak points ( the setlist and Phil's voice ). 2 . Talking about the setlist. Because it is their last tour, i expected a representative sample of their career. What about White mountain ? Dance on a volcano ? You own special way ? Say it"s alright Joe ? Abacab ? No reply at all ? Keep it dark ? DreamIng while you sleep ? 3 . The problem is not Phil's age. it's is health. Roger Daltrey is 77 and he has still a good voice.
@thatmatt413 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't say that Roger Daltrey still has a "good" voice these days. He could do banshee screams like it was nothing back in the 70s, I guess he could sound worse than he does right now, but I don't think he sounds great these days. Just a personal opinion.

I Love Phil Collins but I hate to see this genius, one time sex symbol Rock God from the 70s,80s and 90s in the throes of bad health on tour with a bad pinched nerves physical condition. He shouldn't even be in this bad condition with all the money he has. His families,friends and companion love should insist that he take a year off and dedicate that year to doing everything healthy to improve his life! The man should not be looking like this at his age. Because he's a rockstar does not mean you be his yes man to everything he wants, by not telling him his health is bad. He needs to spend time turning it around by not drinking ever again.Get in AA., Changing his eating habits is also imperative to improving his health. Using physical therapists with approval from his Neurologists, looking at what is the best he can do as far as physical activity to build his strength and what surgeries will definitely give him the ability to walk and build his muscles by doing yoga stretching.That will stretch those neck muscles from years of drumming for hrs that tighten neck and shoulder muscles to ache and lifting heavy concert and music equipments the wrong way. That would have most likely caused the pinch nerves. Do strength building by doing even water yoga. And a healthy spiritualism in his life since God gave him his gifts, honor God by taking care of his mind and continue to be the kind man that he is. Within a year or so time, then come out next year touring! This man you see on stage now will be a stranger compare to the new improved 20 years younger looking and health body soul and mind Phil Collins. . .🗣️🥢🎶🎶🎶 . ✌️🥫🤙. . .
