I installed optima red tops on my genesis kit. Here’s a tip for people using them. Use the tray that comes with them to lift the battery up higher so the battery top can touch the mounting bracket. If you don’t they will be loose in the cage and can short. Also make sure there is room and wires don’t get in the way of the fuse box cover. Another one is you can reach the fuse box power harness bracket under the battery to re install later. Install was easy but if you have a power tray like mine the bolts to get to them will be tougher and you will need to use a long extension to reach the power try bolts. Great product!

Shane I purchased the dual battery system for my Polaris 1000. I reviewed your videos from 2016 on setting up the system as well as the red light on the isolator. My question to you is that both batteries would continue to drain. I found that the isolator was getting very hot and disconnected the middle red wire. The isolator cooled down quickly and the ATV would start without any problem on an ongoing basis. I don't know if the isolator is bad or the chip or brains of the system that sits on the side. Would you mind giving me your opinion. Thank you...Roc.

Good tip, but a few issues with this setup: 1. The vehicle weight balance will be off and more wear on the driver side suspension. 2. Cost, it can be cheaper to tackle this issue with a bracket on the passenger side and a device for under $150 from Amazon to do the same and keep the front weight in better balance.

We’re only adding an extra 50 lbs to the vehicle. That’s much less than a full tank of gas, or a passenger.

Is it possible to put a push button inside the car for connecting the battery instead of opening the hood?

Yes, we accomplish that with our G Screen Monitoring System. The G Screen will allow you to link the batteries together to jump start the engine if the cranking battery is low. Probably not. We've had a handful of customers test fit our FJ and 4runner kits into the Lexus vehicles over the years, and it seems they are just a little bit more cramped for space under the hood, so there's just not enough room to fit 2 batteries in there. We do have a Universal Power Hub that has all the same features that you can mount yourself anywhere you have the room, along with some other universal battery mounting options. What about oil filter? I've 2008 FJ and filter between battery and engine.

It will be fine. The oil fill neck is still closer to the batteries than the oil filter on the 2007-09 models. We have several customers with our kit in those year models with no issues.

Yes, the Optima Yellow Top Group 75/25 will work, but just be aware that it is physically smaller than the industry standard Group 25 size, and therefore it has less capacity than other brands.
