What if there is a sum in which there are 2 populations,but you dont know how many people there are in it. You only have the percentages of the genotypes of each population . When you mix those populations with each other, how do you solve it when you have to calculate the frequencies of alleles?

If you do not know how large populations you mix - you can not solve.

If you given 2 populations and you know genotype frequencies and if you are told that equal number of representatives of each population are taken for formation of new mix population than you can solve.

I solved it without multiplying the number of individuals by two. I got the same result. This reminds me of problems in chemistry dealing with mixing solutions of different concentration and volume.

Yes, it was unnecessary step which can be skipped but I use it to teach this way so it would be more visual for people who struggle to understand.
