If Africa Americans are mistreated in Hollywood why would an African expect them to treat her/him better? It’s impossible really.

@@aframaco9491 I get that but I'm not from Nigeria. I love white people for one thing, they are united unlike African people. We should have our own African Entertainment industry that incorporates all Africans. We should tell our own unique stories embracing each other.

See. When people say those who tell our stories wrong are "ignorant" I find it annoying. They are not ignorant. They have an agenda to keep showing Africa as beneath them. Like we say in Nigeria, we all know what we are doing. I hope Genevieve Nnaji starts churning out the stories they didn't allow her to tell.

How do you create Hollywood without basic infrastructure? Our people live in a different reality. We don't have electricity, running water, motorable roads, solid film schools, acting schools, or film studios. The style of storytelling in both industries is different. The standards in Hollywood are the best, so entry is difficult. Besides, there is a lot of money at stake. It's good that she is trying to approach her storytelling from an original perspective, but these guys here will not take unmitigated risks. They do the same with their own films. Hollywood is a business at the end of the day. Most filmmakers have to go through the same process of negotiating with the studios to stay true to the vision of their project.

Mmmmh, better to exclude that "we" that narration of yours is what hollywood have of Africa which is actually not true! In comparison how many households do not have running water or electricitu in your country?!

She wants to tell her story authentically. That's what she said. You crawl before walking. Y'all always gotta point to something anti-us... Do your part! You throw away what you tear down. You shun those who always find faults with you. Think about that. Build. Build. Build. Pride/patriotism goes long ways. Dangote will still be gun down in USA/West. Ask yourself, why is it so... ENOUGH!

Exactly. No sector in Nigeria can be free of the shortcomings of Nigerian society at large. It's a systemic issue.

Well said. And to be honest, her movie is mediocre. She had a good storyline, but the execution (not the acting) was poor. For instance, the business model she displayed on PowerPoint. They should have consulted real business executives to give them one. Look at Greys Anatomy for instance, the medical diagnosis and treatments actually made sense

The mere fact the you call your industry Nollywood can only make you a commodity. Being copy cats, flooding the film industry with subpar films and expecting to be treated with the at most respect is naive to say the least.
