I mean if bonjwa is given after an instant of being far and away the best, I don't see why anyone would be upset at Mata becoming a bonjwa in S4. He'd been a Royal Roader the year prior, then came into Worlds as the #1 player and completely dominated the tournament into being MVP. Rookie as well, he went 18-1 twice in the LPL in 2018 (although they didn't win either split) and then completely smashed everyone at Worlds. As for Chovy... Yeah he was transcendent in this 4th title, Gen.G wouldn't have gotten past HLE without him and probably wouldn't have won the finals either. But it's not like the other 3 titles were all down to him carrying, so much so that he didn't do anything internationally after those titles. But sure, if he does the Grand Slam this year its changes things.

Monte u srs? Khazix choking out xin by counterjungling and starving him. With no agency for azir gwen, can't defend the counterjungle = xin gets behind, needs to counterjungle opposite side. Meet khazix in isolation as its easy for canyon to read oner with infinite zombie wards/pink, immediate punish. Xin is out of game. It's a hard counter, and they wanted oner on xin for game 5. The ban makes sense, khazix ruined the game for t1 game 4. In hindsight it's easy to say that t1 should've banned ksante but zac counters ksante so why would you? They didn't expect zac to get solokilled TWICE in lane with a winning matchup. You have perfect balance with xin, zac, orianna, luc nami, why would you risk them counterpicking with khazix AGAIN when you can cruise through early game with a good balance for late game value?

yeah its not ban fault but ZEus problem when he is supposed to be their best player... they probably trusted zeus that he will pop off on game 5.... though t1 could also just not ban Jayce though instead of banning it but I'm not sure if its gonna make difference when Zeus is choking so hard he might give kiin 5 kills on that one

Completely agreed. Plus, Kha depends on pushing lanes to choke Xin, but he also scales more than Xin so even if he doesn’t choke Xin, he’s fine just farming and covering lanes as he’ll outscale.

Also, in the Korean communities, discussion of bonjwa is outdated and replaced by GOAT discussions. For League, there is an absolute GOAT, so that is not really a conversation, but instead people discuss who is the second GOAT after Faker (Chovy? Ruler? etc.) and which player is the GOAT of each position (TheShy vs Zeus?, Canyon, Ruler vs Deft etc.)

To offer some criticism of the show,.. it has been 50 minutes and Wolf keeps reiterating the same point. And even if he over this almost an hour added a little to the: its so cool LCK has finals like that. To me a cool podcast/show doesnt have to dragged over like that. And I kinda expected Wolf to prepare ahead of time what he wants to saz on this topic. I imagine had he done that would he be able to speak coherently about the same thing. Because I listening to him actually got me borded (never happened on LFN - also I am now trying to get into this show and the difference is striking its not even the only episode when I got really bored becouse of Wolf dragging the topics). Big fan of LFN I am hoping its considered a fair critisism

I hate Wolf’s logic of you just “have to know”. For those of you that are close to wrestling, that is the same fucking logic Dave Meltzer has with his match star systems. Why is that an issue? Because you get wacky results like New Japan Wrestling getting awarded a total of 83 5 star matches compared to 5 awarded to the WWE with 1996-2011 WWE getting zero 5 star matches (according to Dave Meltzer). I think if Faker had retired around 2019, Chovy would have been considered the second bonjwa. Chovy has been consistently better than Faker for years, but Faker has been closer to him than anyone was to Faker back in the day. Basically, Faker's biggest advantage in the GOAT debate is that everyone else has to beat Faker, but he never had to.

Ive always said that Gen G has the superior macro, but T1s strength is punishing gaps. Its not quite the same kind of macro. Gen Gs rotations are immaculate but if T1 sees a gap whether it be TP, or vision, or slow rotations T1 sees those small opportunities.

Why does Monte keep giving Faker the credit for the Baron calls when we know that Keria is T1's main shotcaller? Like obviously Faker does a ton, and I'm sure he makes some of the calls too, but T1 players have literally said "Keria is our main shotcaller". If they make a Baron call it's more likely to be from Keria than anyone.

Oh yeah, Keria was such a good shotcaller when Faker was out! And it's not like SKT hasn't had those Baron calls from way before this current lineup. I must have imagined them doing Baron rushes, or punishing bad Baron setups, when Khan was there. Keria tells people who to focus in fights, that's not shotcalling. Faker managing every macro decision is.
