Hello, I have a question. Some patients who have undergone facial contouring surgery want to remove the fixation pins after more than a year. However, in the case of the patient in the video, the gap between the cut bones appears to be too large. Is it impossible for a patient like the one in the video to ever remove the fixation pins? And is there a reason not to shave the secondary angle(staircase phenomenon) that occurs after cutting the surgery?

So even though there's a space, the bones aren't touching, it's still able to grow back together? My Dr. said for vertical augmentation a bone graft is needed or it won't grow back together.
