Hi Doc, I’m actually quite furious that the HPV vaccine is not more implemented and there seems to be a lack of knowledge about the virus. How come something so common and so preventable not be given priority considering we did so with Covid?

It is definitely a vaccine that I recommend and many clinicians feel the same way. One day this may be a mandatory vaccine and can certainly save hundreds of thousands if not millions of lives in the future. Unfortunately vaccine hesitancy has only gotten worse after COVID.

Podophyllotoxin is one of the first line medications in the United States. We typically don’t use silver nitrate. Definitely speak with your provider and discuss the risks, benefits, and alternatives because it all depends on each patient, the extent of the disease, and availability of medications as well.

Apparently there are published clinical trials from Japan demonstrating very high success rates in clearing high risk HPV and limited studies/journals here in the US. Great question. There has been many promising studies that suggest that AHCC at certain doses could help with clearing high risk HPV. Studies actually have been done all over the world. Remember that evidence based medicine is slow as we want to see robust studies of large groups, unbiased studies, and studies that are overall conclusive prior to the medical community creating a consensus. Overall, promising data, but more research is needed. Take care!

Hi Doc, I developed a wart that seemed like a skin tag in year 2016. I never knew its a wart so i cut it off using my nail clippers. Do not shave when you have the warts. You can spread the virus to healthy skin because razors can create tiny cuts in healthy skin allowing the virus to enter. You need to see a doctor. If you have absolutely no option to see a doctor (which is silly, go to a doctor there is nothing to be ashamed of.) Anyways, you can use Apple cider vinegar, a cotton ball, and medical tape. Soak the cotton ball in ACV, ring it out completely so there isn't a drop left that falls off the ball when squeezing, then put it against the wart and tape it there. Leave it overnight. Repeat as often as you can tolerate. You MUST be persistent.

Nope, usually HPV that causes warts sticks around for 1-2 years. It may recur or not but usually the immune system takes care of it on its own and you’re hpv free of that specific strain. But the best thing to do and your future partners is to take the HPV vaccine. That way you and your future partner can protect yourselves from the strains that cause most warts and cancer

So HPV found on the cervix is high risk due to HPV as the main cause of cervical cancer. HPV causing genital warts in males is low risk due to them not having a cervix although HPV can cause penile cancer, but that is very rare in males.

Technically it is difficult to know for sure. The HPV can still be present in a persons system, but the warts will be gone. Each person is different once it comes to HPV being eliminated from the system.

Then also work on boosting your immunity via things like AHCC supplements. Now AHCC is not definitive to clear HPV but it should help your immune system. You can study more about it and decide whether to take it or not.

As told in the video HPV has many strains and the vaccine protects against the worst which cause warts and cancer. This way it will protect your family from getting these other variants. Aside from that the next thing you can do for the HPV you already have is to boost your immune system. There are studies about a supplement called AHCC that can help, but perhaps you can study more about it too and see if its worth a try.

It will help protect you from the strains that cause most warts and cancer. Because the strain you have now is one out of a hundred and the vaccine protects you from the worst. Aside from that help boost your immune system in the meantime so that it can help clear the virus. There’s studies about using AHCC which is a supplement that boosts the immune system. But I suggest you study up more about that before purchasing. Its also a bit expensive.

Yeah it sucks man. There’s no way for us to check unless its anal related in that way you can get an anal pap smear. There is one being developed for screebing of throat cancer in Australia though but not yet widely available. Best thing we can do for now is take the HPV vaccine to prevent other dangerous strains of HPV from affecting us. And monitor our symptoms and be honest with our doctors. I’m quite furious really that no ones knows about the vaccine nor about the dam virus and how both dangerous and preventable it is.

No problem. Molluscom contagiosum, genital warts, cysts, pustules, etc... can be seen in the groin area. To be honest, experience is key. So having a provider evaluate you and give you a diagnosis is the best way. Sometimes some providers are unsure and will have to do a biopsy to confirm a diagnosis. Yet, genital warts can be different colors based on someones skin complection as well. Take care!

That way after the vaccine both of you will be more safe from getting the 9 strains that cause most warts and cancer. Prescription is usually best. There are OTC options as well depending on where you live. HPV causing genital warts can be given to the partner so the partner should be aware. Take care.

One option for the both of you is for your partner/both of you to get the hpv vaccine. That way she’d be protected from multiple strains that cause warts and cancer. If both of you have hpv, the vaccine is still good to avoid getting the other strains that cause warts and cancer. Another thing is to boost your immunity to help clear the virus. Because there’s no direct cure for hpv. Your recovery is mostly dependent on your immune system eventually beating the virus. Given that, certain supplements seem to help like AHCC but studies has not yet been conclusive on this but its worth at least a consideration.

Hey how’s it going? Unfortunately I had a small brown bump slowly getting bigger and realized soon enough and saw a dermatologist. They froze the wart and a couple other small bumps that looked to be HPV. I actually went to get tested at a clinic (weeks before the dermatologist) and they looked at my genital area because I thought I possibly had Molluscm… I had small bumps from years ago and they ended up going away. Recently, I got my results back and I was clean. All negative results and with them looking, I felt good and comfortable. I’ve been dating this girl and after about a month, things went down in the bedroom. Once I got the green flag, I tossed the condoms in the trash. She told me she was clean too. She got covid and was on her period so we had a week or so of not seeing each other. But I’m afraid I could’ve potentially given it to her. I got them frozen like I said but I’m not sure what to do if we see each other and she tries to get in the mood. It sucks this is happening and I really don’t want to break her the news but I must because it’s the right thing to do Can I have a relationship with her in the future? When is the next time I can even have another partner or have sex.. This sucks and I wish more people knew about it

No this does not guarantee that she will develop cervical cancer. The main thing is she needs to make sure she is getting her routine Pap smears and follow up with her provider if she has any abnormal vaginal symptoms. Take care!

HPV that causes warts arent the ones that cause cancer but getting a pap smear is the best way to figure out if she has the one that causes it. Given that you should try to get the HPV vaccine because although you already have it, there are a lot of other strains of the virus both of you can get and the vaccine protects from that. Another thing the both of you should do is to boost your immune system in the hopes it will fight the virus and eliminate it. Currently a supplement called AHCC has shown promise in combating HPV, eitherway its a supplement that supports the immune system so it should help along with other things that boost immunity like vitamin C. Cause unfortunately there’s no direct cure for HPV, the best we can do is to strengthen the immune system so that it can beat the virus.

Given that though you should get the hpv vaccine because it helps protect you from around 9 strains that cause warts and cancer. You’ve probably gotten one of those strains so better protect yourself from the other 8 than having to go through this again or get the even more worse ones that cause cancer. Aside from that try going to a skin clinic/dermatologist to have it removed via laser or ointment then get supplements that help boost the immune system. The stronger your immune system the better the chance the virus will go away.

Genital warts comes from genital to genital contact. HPV can cause various different types of warts throughout the body. Warts on someone’s feet are from HPV. But genital warts are primarily caused by HPV 6/11 which are primarily spread through genital to genital contact.

Yes you can from oral if they have oral infection it can spread to your genitals

@@nuwanthamadushan4547 From oral to oral intercourse it is incredibly rare to get genital warts. There are several different strands of HPV that someone can get and, yes, you can get the virus HPV from oral to oral intercourse. That is certainly possible. In medicine, we can never say 100%.

That’s unfortunate. Unfortunately there is no definitive treatment except for removing warts as you develop them. Improving immunity through adequate sleep, maintaining a healthy diet, and improving stress will only help you. Definitely chat with your provider for further treatment options. Take care!

If you have never had sexual contact with anyone of any form your whole life and then developed genital warts after having intercourse with someone, likely you got it from them. But there are different scenarios and it depends on each persons situation.

I think he means but the overall “dont” cause cancer. But there are hpv strains that do cause cancer. Sadly a vaccine is available that no one seems to be informed about. And so many lives could have been saved by simple awareness and administration of the vaccine. For now the best fight against the virus is helping boost the immune system

The HPV virus can be in a persons system for a long time. Also you could have gotten it from someone in the past as well. Certainly if he is the only person you have been with in your life, he likely gave it to you. Yet, it doesn’t mean that he cheated, but certainly someone cannot rule that out as well. Unfortunately there is no way to tell definitively.
