During a math test at my college in Utah, there was an anti cheating poster inside the testing center. It said stuff like "don't use your cell phone or you'll fail" among other things. It also had a picture of a guy that wrote a math formula on his had with a huge circle and line drawn through it. Unfortunately for the center, the math formula was still 100% visible. Fortunately for me, it was a math formula I needed and I used the anti cheating poster to pass the test and graduate!

I went to a very strict Christian boarding high school where we were forced to attend worships every day. They enforced this by handing out color-coded worship slips at each worship, which would then be collected by the deans at the end of the week. After attending a few weeks, I had gathered all of the color-coded slips and realized they used the same color for every day, regardless of the week. The only thing that changed was the date. So I got a hold of colored paper and printed out worship slips for the entire year, made multiple copies in the library's Xerox machine (free to use at the time), and sold them to dorm residents. I also never revealed that I was the one who made them, and always said that I bought them from someone else. Eventually, they caught on, but by then, other kids had started doing the same thing and no one had any clue who had originally produced them.

In 6th grade we were allowed 1 page of notes for a history exam. I took my book home and got the finest pencil I could find and a magnifying glass. I transcribed the whole chapter word for word on 1 page of paper and brought the magnifying glass with the notes to class. I naturally Aced the exam, although, my teacher was a bit unhappy with my '1 page of notes' work around. The discovery was made while inquiring why I needed a magnifying glass to take the test and then seeing my notes. ... What I failed to mention is the 'magnifying glass' was a several hundred dollar camera lens I swiped from my dad's camera bag. I'm happy to say the lens survived the whole day without breaking, including after having a huffy teacher inspect it, but I was caught putting it back after the test when I was home. When asked what I was doing, I spilled the beans, showed my dad the notes I had taken and watched as an enormous grin covered my dad's face. Ingenuity at it's finest. In hindsight, I should have just studied the chapter. Transcribing history texts is AGONIZING.

A few years ago, my father and brother went to the Northern Territory in Australia for some work in a remote town. My father drove his Ute (work truck) and brother drove the flat bed MR truck to the small town with various pieces of machinery. On the way they saw a station wagon full of indigenous people of various ages trying to flag them down. They pulled over to see what the problem was and found out they were out of petrol and wanted a tow to the next petrol station. As that was where my father and brother were working they said ok and tied the station wagon to the back of the Ute. It was a large truck stop with fast food out lets and a small convenience store, and when we arrived all the children and young adult indigenous people raced inside to buy food and drinks while the elders stayed and untied the wagon from my fathers Ute. They said their thanks and goodbyes and my father and brother continued to their destination to get settled for work over the coming weeks. After settling in they decided to go back to truck stop service station for some fast food and the indigenous people were still there trying to wave down another car to take them back to where my father had picked them up. My father went over to see if he could help get their car started. Turns out the car had no engine and every couple of days they would push their car to main road and wait for good Samaritans to tow them to truck stop so they could by food for next couple of days the wait for another good Samaritan to tow them back.

Back in school, my brother had a complex of being 'too similar to me' even though he's totally different; that time I was a little bigger than him but I also had more hair (notable differences) but one day we got our clothes swapped to attend the other class because some lessons were boring, yet it was another moment with swapped clothes that worked better than that: the test swap. Basically, where we studied, teachers punished students giving them the 'option' to leave the class if there was a trouble; my brother had one and gone into the principal's and I finished my test quickly and pretended I don't received it, then she gave me permission to use the bathroom and I've gone to my brother when the principal was off and told him to ask to go into the bathroom; we've swapped clothes again and he made into the class and done the test (he asked for another one because I hid mine's) and then he forced a headache and gone down again, just for me to be back into the class with my test over the desk; he passed even though he was 'unable' to do it and I've got mine into a week delay for note because the teacher was tired, no one ever found it, even our parents lmao Almost forgot, the said clothes in question was a blue hoodie almost like a coat (it was winter that time) and a black scarf we've used to cover our mouth

Back in the early 1970's, to keep my two sisters and I from begging for sips of soda from glasses, and taking huge sips leaving almost no soda left for mom, she had a great trick. First, she gave us black coffee with no cream or sugar in coffee cups. Of course, being children under the age of 5 (I think I was 2 or 3 when she pulled this on me), we tasted the coffee and didn't like it's bitter taste. Now comes the trick, she would have friends over and they were always drinking from coffee cups, but they were not drinking coffee but soda. My sisters and I would hear her having fun with friends, think they are drinking soda, see the coffee cups and never once ask for a sip. That is some next level sneakiness. @@legobuildinggamer4048 Close, but I was actually born the same month America landed on the moon, July 1969. As a baby I watched as Neal Armstrong first set foot on the moon, though I don't remember it but have seen it as a child and adult thanks to it being recorded. I'm only 52. Now my 85 yr old mother, who is also still alive, she was born in 1936 {Edited year: had pushed 4 instead of 3}. Back then there was no TV, plenty of radios, and to watch a moving picture show you went to the movies. Phones were party line, and if your neighbor was on the phone you either had to wait till they were done or, in case of emergency, tell the other people on the line that you had an emergency and could they please get off the line. Most places, especially in the country, didn't have phones much less power, and if you did have power and wanted your house cool you used a Swamp Cooler. I'm living in an over 100 year old house that has seen many upgrades from the time it was built from first power, then phone lines, swamp cooler that was replaced with air conditioning as well as adding a water heater rather than heating water on a stove to warm up a bath, to a few years ago going solar powered and fiber optic phone and internet. A LOT has changed in less than a century.

A little later when my daughters came up to speak with him, Santa laughed and said, I have something of yours. Thank you. He then pulled out the three letters and you should have seen my 4 year olds face. She couldn’t believe he had them. Afterwards she told me that that was the real Santa Claus.

When I was in high school, my parents had to go away every weekend, and I was left home alone. The rule was I couldn’t leave my house without permission unless it was a real emergency, and I was a good kid and all I wanted to do was stay at home and play computer games anyway. This whole no leave the house rule was a problem, only because of one thing. There was never any soda in the house, and I love soda. I was making a little money online, nothing major just enough for a high school kid, translating things from English to Spanish and back again for people who needed it and couldn’t afford to pay real translator. I channel that money into my genius idea. They said I couldn’t leave the house, and they would not have given me permission to go to the store because there was tons of healthy food in the house. But I didn’t need to, I discovered that there was a deal at my local pizza joint where if you ordered two pizzas, you got to 2 L sodas for free. I ate a lot of pizza that weekend. And the next 12 weekends they were away. I was pretty sick of pizza by the end.

My father did something bizzare during his school years which until today has not been found out. So basically he was studyung in university and transportation fees take up mich of his allowance to the point where he rarely eats just to cover his school fees. Here in the philippines jeepneys are one of the transportation commonly used by students because they are the cheapest compared to others. In a jeepney when you board, the way of paying is that you pass your payment to the pther passengers so it can be given to the driver while saying "bayad po", the last person to give it to the driver will say "bayad po nila" where in english means "their payment" indicating that you have already payed. Well my father whenever he ussed a jeepney and he would be the last tl pass to the driver, he would say "bayad po" only excluding the key word which is "nila", neglecting the key word translates what he said to "my payment". Using that tactic he was able to get his trasportation fees all for free during his whole university days, and he was nevwe caught once.

We laughed our asses off when we got our yearbooks the last few days before summer vacation.

I know 3 guys who were in university and whenever they had projects they would 'divide and conquer' by splitting the task up into sections, each doing a section and then putting it all together as 'individual work'. And if that isn't enough "beating the system", they would make this deal with different groups of people and traded out their section with someone else. By doing that they didn't need to do anything. There are so many students that the lecturers didn't even notice 5 people having the exact same project.

As a parent if you are so unaware that your child left the apartment, went to the bowling alley and climbed into the claw machine it's time to rethink your parenting technique. As a parent I am fully aware of child trafficking, and it's not to be taken lightly. Though this child was found safe, many don't. These types of stories make me mad. Yes we all make mistakes but how wrapped in your own world do you have to be. I knew that once my children went quiet something was wrong. And I was always aware and I was right when my kids were quiet they were breaking eggs, or coloring on the walls. Or giving the dog a hair cut. We can't be 100% safe but don't be so absent minded to not know anything for over an hour. I always did the 15 hover technique meaning every 15 mins I stopped and checked in on my kids. Pain in the ass when you're busy but your kids are worth the effort.

My dad always kept the mixture of lager to drink himself but I was told to dispose of the cider & Guinness. So I did… down my neck, until I was caught & then he wanted them kept for him to drink as well. I didn’t get told off for 2 reasons; 1) he wasn’t specific enough in his instructions & 2) he did exactly the same when he was young & didn’t want to be a hypocrite.
