I decided to check to see if guessing first had any impact on the score. When Harstem guessed first[Harstem was on average 360 MMR off, Lambo was 380] When Lambo guessed first[Harstem was on average 365 MMR off, Lambo was 637] In conclusion: Harstem does about the same, and Lambo does significantly worse when he guesses first. The opposite of Lambo's hunch. Also Harstem guessed first twice as often last season, 14-7. (I dropped the first two episodes as they were formatted differently with only one player guessing in each)

Check the anchoring bias effect. It is powerful.

You're basing this off the last season where Harstem did significantly better, Lambo was clearly only talking about this season. Naturally anchoring towards the other player gives you better results when the other player is doing better.

@@mothrahlurker788 Oh for sure, Lambo outright speaks through his process of biasing his guess towards Harstem's for better results. It's just that Lambo said in this video that he wants to not game theory his guesses as he thinks that is making his guesses worse.

@@viniciusribeiro5446 I don't think this is a good example of the anchoring bias. This just seems like some simple game theory on Lambo's part, he just guesses near Harstem's guess in the direction he thinks it's more likely for the MMR to be that way worse case he is not super behind.
