It's probably for niche situations like mine. I like the size of my house, but some of my furniture doesn't really accommodate additional guests very well. If I'm going to store that furniture somewhere for the REST of the year, I would rather it be somewhat useful in its compact form than have it just occupying storage space.

this 'turbo' displaying does the exact opposite of what is intended. the timing destroys the chance to fully grasp the pieces functions.

Thank you for your feedback. I've noticed that some viewers prefer a faster pace, while others appreciate a slower rhythm to fully grasp the pieces' functions. I'll work on finding a middle ground that satisfies everyone. Your input is greatly appreciated
@leyrua26 күн бұрын
@@SmartTechVega Yeah I like the faster pace (sorry Judi). I can't exactly put these videos on in the background for ambience because they are primarily VISUAL, so having them run faster let's me "speed-read" for ideas without getting impatient and skipping ahead to the next item, potentially missing something neat.
@leyrua26 күн бұрын
It's funny, I used to want PRIMARY furniture like this, but later realized just how much extra effort would go into reconfiguring it every time you want to use it. But now I see the real benefit: SECONDARY furniture. It's helpful when there are two pieces of furniture you need, but one of them is needed only on specific occasions. i.e. if you primarily eat at a small table (like one of those little circular high-top tables) but occasionally need to be able to seat guests, that coffee table that unfolds into a dinner table could be perfect if you don't have a good spot to store one of those plastic folding tables where it won't be visible or interfere with your closet space. Plus stuff like that unfolding coat and shoe rack are things that you could potentially BUILD with a bit of carpentry skill, customized for whatever size fits your entryway. Is it niche? Sure. But just knowing that this sort of thing EXISTS is really helpful. Thanks for the video.

The ideas great but the practicality is not. The idea of having to setup and disassemble your bed or any of the furniture every time is just annoying. Try this out to see if you’re ok with it. Get one of those long foldable beach chair that you can lay down. Then get those long cushions that you can put on top of the chair. Find a place where you can store it. Use this as your daily driver for a week, then 2 weeks and then a month. Every time you use it, set it up. Every time you don’t use it, fold it and put it away. If you’re able to tolerate all that work, then it’s for you. If not, you learned something about yourself. For something simpler, get a folding chair and a cushion for it. Everything time you need to sit, take it out from the storage area and set it up. When you’re done using it, put it away and store it away. Do this for a month. If you can tolerate it, these type of furniture is for you. Else avoid it.
@SmartTechVega2 ай бұрын
you raise a valid point, it's a bit of hassle going through the process time and time again but still there are great ideas that take this into consideration and are very easy to setup nonetheless.

@SmartTechVega2 ай бұрын

@@SmartTechVega I appreciate your response, and I really love KZbin channels with real human hosts, and narrators. I used to be involved in store design, furniture, and signs. Of course a lot of this is subjective. Early in the video you can see it's a bunch of young designers, and that's exciting. Bottom line, it's a good thing that a lot of people are working on these designs because they are becoming a necessity. The Murphy Bed has been around a long time so I feel that is the basis for all of this. So today the Murphy Bed needs to function as at least two things as shown in your video.
@SmartTechVega2 ай бұрын
@@CIS101 Thank you for your thoughtful response! I'm glad you enjoy KZbin channels with real human hosts and narrators. It's great to hear about your background in store design, furniture, and signs that must give you a unique perspective on these topics. What are the ideas that you didn't particularly like or found redundant? I would love to hear your opinion on the matter as it will help us grow
@CIS1012 ай бұрын
@@SmartTechVega Ok well that's a good question. For starters I've seen those room sized bed solutions before. That may work for some people, but not a minimalist, and the example shown in the video is nauseating. I've also seen many examples of the expanding round table, and the one shown is does not expand to a big enough size for it to be worth the trouble, and it's of no particular architectural style, and seems out of place. I would rather just have a traditional expanding table, and add one or two leaves. Pointless.
@CIS1012 ай бұрын
The small desk folding out below the 60 in flat screen TV is a convenience, but would you want to work there all day ? Not I. I realize a lot of these designers have good intentions, but so did those behind all of the worst designs since the Industrial Revolution.
