To the remarkable person reading this, recall the words of Henry David Thoreau: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." Your dreams are a compass guiding you through life's adventure. Keep going; you're closer than you think! 🌟💪🚀

TRUST. THE. PROCESS!! Believe that you can succeed, and no matter what, NO MATTER WHAT you do not stop staying consistent and persistent with your quality and upload strategy. Another big thing is sticking with your niche, choose one you love creating around and then watch the magic happen. Cheers to all of us small KZbinrs, we're gonna make it!

Genius! Being consistent doesn't only mean posting videos a lot, but it's also about getting better with every video you make. Making a plan for when to post videos and preparing them in groups really helps to keep things consistent. The idea of thinking about your viewers instead of just focusing on how to please KZbin's system changed the way I see KZbin. The fact that even small KZbin channels can achieve big things really hit home for me. It reminds us all that just because you're starting small, it doesn't mean your dreams should be small too.

Consistency for sure! Although i think i also messed up by starting to build a channel on an account I've used for a decade just to watch content, so now it looks like it took a decade to hit 1k subs when it was actually a few months. Hopefully being consistent and carrying on pushing will help smooth that out! I refuse to give up!
@GhostGirlBlues

the closest thing to consistency that i am capable of is streaming a lot, which is horrible for growth. the challenge is to try to force myself to stream less. i can't regularly produce the kinds of videos that i want, that i have planned and that technically i am working on, but may never see the light of day. no, i don't think i have what it takes to make it as a streamer or youtuber, but i don't think i have what it takes to do anything else either

I strive to make quality video as a relatively new KZbinr. I do plenty of research and put emphasis on the potency of storytelling. I work incredibly hard along with my full time job to do this and am continuously learning, but one thing I realized is that en masse taste may not be something one should try to cater to, since the consumption standard is not always great. Everyone wants numbers, but they are not be all and end all. Ultimately, one needs to be in a position to look at their own videos with smile. System, planning etc. are all good but in my opinion, they won’t override creativity, which always aren’t systematic or process-oriented. Yes, it is a flawed version of success to only focus on numbers, which are certainly encouraging yardstick. But for me the joy of creation and learning come first.

All the advice given on this channel is excellent. My personal problem is that I'm procrastinating on a project I'm being paid to help with, helping my father write a book. Every time I want to work on a video I have this nagging frustration that I need to finish at least the first draft of this thing, but his writing is so rudimentary that it's incredibly difficult to edit and adapt into something enjoyable. I really need to get my nose into the grindstone on this, use that money I earn to get new video supplies and just go all out at that point.

I do think that this advice rings true for a lot of us, however, how come some videos blow up and others don't at all? This happened to me, and while I can understand some of where my audience and viewership came from, it doesn't explain the phenomena fully in my opinion. Anyone else had this happen to one of their videos?

I'm at a point where I am trying to improve so many things with each video.....but of course that takes more time and more steps. So now, I'm not consistent. Cause I'm too busy and all these extra steps makes me procrastinate. I am mentally trying to get to the happy middle where I am making good solid videos regularly...consistently....and leave out all the extra fluff that really at my stage is not necessary to grow. That's my biggest challenge right now. Make more videos...good videos..but don't overcomplicate it!

I need an advice. I've had a gaming channel with 20-30k subs but I've stopped making videos for a while, then I changed a topic and started posting absolutely different content. Audience didn't want to watch new videos and started to unsubscribe. Then I forgot about this channel and it was dying for years. This year I created few videos on some highly specialized topics but it didn't get views (why is that lol). Now I want to create some entertainment content but the problem is I don't know should I create a new channel and start from scratch (with all the pain), or should I try to recover this channel (it still has over 20k subs for now, but videos gain no views at all). As I viewed your videos you said that youtube processing every new video separately from others, so every GOOD video should be promoted by YT and get views in theory. But what if my channel is kinda shadowbanned or something - videos are hardly gained 200-300 views (I understand that videos are probably sux, but question is still actual). Could you please make a video on that topic? Or post a link if you already have one. Any advice would be appreciated!

@jmg999

How can you possibly state that making mediocre videos has no penalty? The entire video leading up to that point was that the algorithm promotes what people want to watch. If you make mediocre videos, your content won't be promoted, and even if you turn the corner, and make better content down the line, you're already shown that people don't want to watch your videos. Therefore, you will have an uphill climb in trying to get your content promoted. So, in fact, it has the exact opposite effect of what you're stating.

0:12 Yes. It takes 4 to 6 weeks for me to make a video. Not everyone can write a script with AI while they cook breakfast, then record the video, then at eleven thirty take the rest of the day off after outsourcing the editing. Some of you guys think EVERYONE does EXACTLY what you do. Many channels like this have no purpose at all except to dangle a carrot in front of viewers. The advice given applies to only a narrow scope of hopeful content creators, mostly people who have no creativity. It's basically digital snake oil. It's a psychological tactic. "I'm successful and you're not. But you could be, if you listen to me. PS: Here's more videos where I tell you I'm successful and you're not and offer you more false hope."
